I have a lovely oatcake recipe. It’s kind of like a cobbler topper (it’s an American recipe so measurements might have to be converted but it’s amazing) Thyme, Rosemary, and Rose syrup: a couple of springs of thyme 1 spring rosemary small handful tea grade rose petals 1/3 c. water 1/3 c. sugar Directions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat and let sit for about an hour to infuse. You may want to make extra of this delicious concoction - it tastes wonderful added to tea and would also make a lovely gift packaged up all prettily! Skillet Oatcake: 1 c. unsalted butter 3 Tbs. herbal syrup (reserve the extra to sweeten your tea!) 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 1/2 c. rolled oats 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. dried thyme (or 1 tsp fresh, finely chopped) Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium pot on the stove, combine the syrup, butter, and sugar. Stir until incorporated, than add the vanilla, thyme, cinnamon, and salt. Remove from heat and dump in the oats. Stir until combined, then pour the mixture into an oven-safe cast iron skillet. 2. Cook for 23 minutes. It won’t be set yet, but will harden as it cools down. It should be quite firm when it comes to room temperature. Sprinkle with some decorative sugar if you'd like a little extra loveliness.
I am loving mushrooms this year also. I recently bought a set of hot chocolate mugs, I don't drink coffee, that are mushrooms. The bottom is white(ish) and they have a removable red with white dots lid. So cute, of course I didn't stop there I bought the matching tea pot, dessert plates, cake plate and spoons. Can't wait to have a hot chocolate party with my grandbabies this fall!!
I love merry hill, I actually went myself a couple of weeks ago. I went once as a teen then didn't go again for 17 years till last year, been 4 times now since. It's so much fun, I was kicking myself I'd missed out going for so long. Agree about their homesense to, it's really good. First time I'd been in one so I nearly lost my mind at all the Halloween stuff. I'm cat obsessed especially black cats, even at Halloween you only see the odd black cat item so I was in my element with all the black cat things they had.

Mine is the aqua/mint color, those are my favorite pumpkins but I love the grey pumpkins (real ones) the best!

On a random note, Roddy and I have a giant pumpkin with a wicked face that is practically mini table sized and we keep him out all year. He is a hard plastic, but so amazing it can't matter. LOL + we do use him as a mini table to hold you know, wands, daggers, drinks, the extracted teeth of those people who live next door who used to annoy us.
