Very interesting and well explained! Kind of makes me happy I only have a spa to deal with, though. I had no idea there was that much to be done to close a pool for the winter.
In ur skimmer, there is two holes. The hole closest to the pool goes to the main drain. Don’t u have to winterize this second hole?!? Also, is a 8-10 gallon compressor have enough CFM to properly remove all the water from the lines and main drain?!? Are u located in the north where there is a real long winters or down south?? Thanks!
thanks for your question ! see answers below for your first question see this video - th-cam.com/video/dXa-wJ7Gsu0/w-d-xo.html Also, is a 8-10 gallon compressor have enough CFM to properly remove all the water from the lines and main drain?!? - YES, Are u located in the north where there is a real long winters or down south?? - I'm in Pennsylvania
Not needed for vinyl lined pool, if you have tile, make sure to lower below tile. As always watch as many of these videos from different creators, it's not one size fits all :) - thanks for the comment !
Great video, it gives me the confidence to do my own pool closing. thanks buddy.
GREAT ! Good Luck !

Thank you - Wish I had a spa to close!

Love this video just have one question what psi do you set your compressor to? Or can you do it with a shop vacuum
I set to 30 psi.
You can use shop vac, I just find it not powerful enough to blow out the drains at bottom of pool.
Great video.
Thanks!
great video thank you so much.
how many PSI are you using to blow the drain/lines out pls... not sure if I missed it.
Keep around 30 psi.
What size fitting threads into the fitting on the pump for the compressor just the standard 1/4” NPT compressor fitting?
it's just a standard thread... right off the shelf

How many gallons is your compressor?
8 gallon but you could use smaller...
What happens if after pool is closed and your young child turns the knob back open on the deep drain which air locks it?
i'd re-blow it out - then pull the handle off so it can't be moved.
Interesting that you didnt lower the waterline below the jets.
