Libby Heaney: Ent- | BTS

'Ent-' is an exhibition by British artist Libby Heaney that features an innovative use of quantum physics in art, and an exploration of quantum computing’s current and future impact on our lives. Heaney is one of the few artists addressing this theme and its complex implications. Commissioned by LAS, her exhibition was on show at Schering Stiftung Berlin, until 1 May 2022.
In 'Ent-', Heaney presents a 360-degree installation, inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's painting 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' (1490-1500). Heaney views Bosch’s vision of heaven and hell as a metaphor for the ambivalence of the quantum age. She uses quantum computing to animate and modify her watercolour paintings of fantastical creatures and landscapes.
