I should mention that I did not watch Dragon Ball Daima this season which I bring up because I said in my Ultimate Guide for this season that I believe it was worth checking out. I still believe that despite not having watched it yet, but I'm going to be 100% honest I haven't watched anything Dragon Ball related (other than the Super Hero movie that a friend took me to) since I was in single-digits. I wanted to watch the series in English Dub since I grew up watching Dragon Ball Z in English but I didn't get a chance to see it in theaters and I believe it doesn't start streaming until January. I more than likely won't be watching it next season too since I've mostly decided what I'm going to watch already and I'm going to be real busy with the channel next season and while I still believe that the show should be checked out I also believe that because I wanted to respect the life and legacy of Toriyama. If I just suddenly binged it just to talk about it for a minute in a tier list and rank it like any other anime I couldn't help but think that could be a little disrespectful since I had been waiting anyways and didn't want to just treat it like any other seasonal airing show. That's just how I feel about it for myself, I have absolutely no problem with others ranking it in their lists. I'd like to watch Daima at some point since I've heard good things, it looks great, I love original Dragon Ball, and I would like to respect Toriyama, but if I do it'll be in the futute when I won't rank it in a tier list and can just enjoy it on its own without needing to slot it in some tier and write some goofy jokes about it. I hope all who have checked it out enjoy it though and once again, Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama.

I haven't read the novel, but is it possible that arc 6 works much better as a novel, just like arc 4, and arc 3 and arc 5 are better received as anime? Many WN readers find arc 4 much better than arc 5, but here with the anime you can clearly see that arc 5 has the best reviews so far.

hell yeah Puniru gang! it feels nice again to be on the ground floor of a small cult for a truly underrated hidden gem in the most accurate definition of the term. It wasn't a hugely exciting season for me. Highlights were Dandadan, Puniru, Demon Lord 2099, MagiLumiere 365 Days to the Wedding, so yeah we definitely have similar taste. I kind of fell off Blue Box because the site I was using to watch it had problems, and then I started thinking about the Hina Situation, realized this was how fans of Yui Yuigahama felt, and felt disinclined to put myself through further grief. Might still pick it back up, might not. I never managed to get around to watching the second season of Re:Zero, so I'm kind of just feeling like Squidward watching Spongebob and Patrick play from his window. I watched a lot of mid shows to be honest, 6's and 7's. stg it was like a whole bucket of Atri. honestly I might use Atri as a benchmark for mid, a fixed point around which all mid can revolve. or maybe a unit of mid measurement. Like. Ms. Servant is .8 of an Atri, while the Appraisal Aristocrat isekai is 1.5 Atris. Mahounare/Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians ended up bottom of the season for me, and I think that's best expressed as being .1 of an Atri. very unfortunate. Villainess bounced around, but managed to claw its way up to 1.25 Atris because it ended up being consistent and not totally falling apart, and the MC maintained the courage of her convictions. Do Over Damsel is a show I wouldn't recommend, maybe even less than Ms. Servant, but it has a lot of both highs and lows. Problematic and bad production values but interesting plot, fun characters, and very occasionally a good action scene. so it gets a full 1 Atri by averaging out. Arifureta s3 is impossible to rate on the Atri scale, though. it's as much of a dumpster fire as Arifureta ever is. It'll never be as embarrassing a production as it was in the first season (though the next episode being delayed for production reasons is...distressing), but it's still a ludicrous funhouse mirror version of a harem power fantasy isekai. But it's like a weird polycule, the main character is a bit self-conscious of looking like an edgelord, and a major plot of the season centers on a ragtag group of chuuni bunny people launching a black ops invasion of an imperial castle with the MC's tactical support. Shangri-La Frontier went through a bit of a lull, but the last couple of episodes have been FIRE. also as a Source Material Reader, there's things coming in the second cour that are going to be so hype to see animated. anything else? uh, Nina the Starry Bride is the kind of fantasy shoujo you only recommend to people who already like fantasy shoujo. generously 1.2 Atris but I haven't finished it and there's more downside than upside to the last two episodes. expecting annoying love triangle drama.
That's an... interesting measurement system but I understand where you're getting at. Season 1 of SLF I watched the dub and I also kinda ran out of things I wanted to say about it so I'll just catch up at some point when the season is done

Okay I was reading the comments and how has no one agreed with the godly move of putting Orb in God tier? It's my favourite anime of the season and top 3 of the year without any doubt.
What you said about the studio that made the Dandadan anime loves the source material and wants to make an adaptation that it deserves, is what I think about White Fox. If you consider that White Fox skips openings and makes 29 minute episodes just to get in another story part to make the episode end satisfying.
As the person who recommended Puniru to you, seeing you put it in S tier made me a feel a kind of joy I will never feel again. (Unless Sengoku Youko or Yatagarasu appear in the end of year tier list) Also, as an Amagami manga reader I can confirm that it will only get better in the second cour. The series was a bit slow and generic at the start, but it started to take a different direction with the original premise and became one of the most unique harem mangas I’ve read.
@oliveroates Thanks to your comment I ended up checking out and watching one of my favorite anime of the season! I appreciate it!! Most Notorious Talker has some relatively interesting twists I think. Let this grieving soul retire is silly but doesn't hook me at all. Edit: Yakuza Fiancé is so entertaining. It's like watching a terrible reality TV show that you just can't turn away from.
FYI, Poland was nothing like in Orb. Heliocentricity was not considered heresy. The Catholic Church literally bankrolled people researching the theory. The Pope's family personally funded people who pushed Heliocentric theory. I'm not even Catholic, these are just facts. The show may be good, but it's ahistorical.
The astronomical terms and diagrams are accurate but astrology being seen as heresy to this extent (especially in Poland) is a major exaggeration if not incorrect for sure. It is historical fiction though and that lends to the fiction side. It helps create a gripping story and tell the stories and lessons that it wants to tell and that's what matters.
@ just like with the bouquet throw lol. The gorilla team got too distracted by her cuteness. I’m good with spoilers until around the 24-26 girlfriend. Need to catch up. With such a good adaptation makes it kind difficult to get motivated 😂
I mean if a really cute maid girl just showed up and told me she was an assasain I'd probably not bat an eye, You can just meet US service members who guard nukes in an airport during their off leave. Heck my Grandpa was a Corpsman for the Cav scouts during Vietnam and he just casually drops now (It took him a while to open up about his experiances but there awesome to hear about) that he had to play cat and mouse with VC for days given they blew up an Ammo depot they had made.
I mostly agree id put yakuza and grieving soul in S personally as i enjoyed them way more than 365 days till the wedding. yes even more than talker. Also i do not like Chi (orb) what so ever. I don't understand why its so popular to be honest. Its melodromatic and almost a parody of the struggle its depicting. Dungeon Meshi has a minor problem at the beginning where contrivance leads to them meeting senshi the exact sort of person they are looking for. Ultimately its a minor gripe there as its necessary to get the story going, but Chi is that extended out over the entire show. Based on this show you would think the entire population of Poland is solely focused on this relatively minor pursuit. Its melodramatic and doesn't use its setting or concept to the best of its ability. I feel like a lot of people see madhouse and expect it to be a hidden masterpiece but it just simply doesn't hit in the same way many of the madhouse style passion projects does.
Dandadan is the new Demon Slayer, above average story, god-like animation but overall is just not that interesting and gets boring really fast. Putting rezero in above god tier is just insane biased glaze, it has gotten only 8 episodes too.
