And I can't forget, the music when Duncan arrives is just so... patriotic, cheerful and valiant, just like the bagpipes of House Atreides. The French Horn is a perfect instrument for Duncan Idaho. And that hug with Paul makes me smile so damn much.

Well from what I heard Denis actually wrote and maybe even shot a couple of scenes where Idaho made planetfall on Arrakis to find the Fremen.
For personal interest I tried to dig more information about the Atreides Stealth Fighter, when we saw Duncan for the first time. I always wondered why they designed such a detailed ship for only one scene. Then I found out that Denis planned a scene where Duncan flew with his Stealth Fighter to Arrakis to establish contact with the Fremen. This scene is considered as a deleted scene.

There was a lot from the book that was not carried into the movie. Like the origin of the Sardauker was a real mystery to the whole emperium with only rumours about where these incredible fighters came from. Paul only figures it out much later whereas in the movie they just go there upfront. I didn't mind though as I can only just wonder at how you would fit everything in that book into a movie or even multiple movies. It is simply too much, you just have to make the story work.

OK, so I did a bit of top pof my head calculations on beat forces of ornithopter lift system. Dragonfly is the model. So that means, adjusting for size, and mass, a realistic frequency is 10,000 BPM. Assuming a carbon-fibre/hi tech metal compostite in hinges, and connector gears. The G forces load on dynamic components is well over 1000G. Approaching 5000G at tips. Ornithopter is not a variation on helicopter. In Earth's nature , the closest thing to an organic helicopter are seedleafs of some trees, who operate on principle of autorotation for dispersal. No bird, insect, or any animal on record made use of rotary airfoils. Bird wings operate on principle on mission adaptable airfoil, changing shape to control amount of lift, including stall when landing. But epicyclic beat pattern of insects is close to 400 million years. That is the model that ornithopter appears to use.

So not sure what you are saying here. It's not feasible? G loads don't tell you the stresses in the material fibres of the blades. You would need to know what peak stresses arise from such accelerations and then compare against ultimate strength of this material. And even you did the sums and if carbon-fibre is not feasible then you could assume that some additional progress has been made in material science. Graphene is order of magnitude stronger - and thats available now. What would be available in 10 thousand years time - when this is set? ... well, lets assume .....and accept that it's potentially plausible ... or suspend disbelief.
