When in was in my 20’s I would go to shows of people I had no Idea who they were. I would get stoned then see if they could take me on a journey. Gatemouth was one of the shows. I went into the zone and didn’t come out until the last note. Amazing performer.
Go back and look his stuff from the 1970's; no picks then, either. ...and often his slickest s**t (like 2:12 and 4:58 here) was played so softly as to be barely audible...
