Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn might be the two most charming human beings who ever lived. I love this film.

Wow, this trailer is all over the place. Which is a shame, because the actual movie is an elegant masterpiece.

I was about to say the same thing, trailer is awful for such a great film.

You mean you don't love Cary's voiceover? I love the trailer just as much as the film! Fabulous entertainment on every level.
Lives up to the accolade of "The best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never made".

Critics call this the best Hitchcock movie that Hitchcock didn't make, but if I'd go so far as to say that if I counted it as a Hitchcock movie, it would actually make my top 5 favorites.

I'm having a tough time keeping my eyes off this Mr Stanley Donen's spine-chilling, mind-boggling,and rib-tickling "craftiest-and-chirpiest" film classic Charade that has credibly achieved to combine the elements of amusement, bewilderment, excitement, and enchantment. I truly love to watch this kind of screwball-and-whodunit film that has showcased the magic charms of Mr Cary Grant and Ms Audrey Hepburn; the sudden unexpected turn of events; the fascinating wisecracks; the stirring enacting of the supporting casts ( notably Mr Coburn and Mr Kennedy ); the alluring theme song of Mr Mancini and Mr Mercer; the sidesplitting and nail-biting scenes; the arresting and stimulating costume designs of Mr Hubert de Givenchy; and the befitting and riveting narrative.Do you know what's wrong with this movie? Nothing!

I disagree- he's comical and has a certain deadpan delivery that's refreshing even for back then. I adore the man.

Probably the most famous modern hollywood movie to enter the public domain, as the film labratory neglected to put a copyright status in the movie, hence cheap copies of the movie with poor prints in addition to a restored version of the movie from Universal and Criterion.

"as the film laboratory neglected to put a copyright status in the movie"
As it should be. I don't think these classic movies, (Some that are older than I am!) that we used to watch for FREE on TV, should be a perpetual extortion racket.
Movie companies, the real "pirates", are making a fortune on us movie goers "fans" whether it's the obscene cost of theater tickets or the outrageous price of plastic DVD's.
All these classics should be put in the public domain. Again, I'm sick and tired of being raped by the cable companies and having the added bonus of being ripped off everywhere you turn with these damned "Premium Channels" even to watch the f-ing news!!!

I have a copy of this film, and I noticed that it's generally of very low quality, except for a few scenes. Is the film actually like this or do I just have a very poorly digitised version?

It wasn't properly copyright when first released so that's opened the door for everyone to put out a copy.

Definitely the latter. Do yourself a favor and get the Criterion Blu-ray. It'll be like night and day!

Grant was uncomfortable with the age difference hence the reason why Hepburn is hitting on Grant instead of the contrary.
