If you book the hop on, off bus online there is a slight discount and you have your tickets. No queuing.

If you have booked select buses are free. If you have booked saver you have to pay a small charge. Some ports you get of the ship and walk straight into town.
Just show your cruise card to pay for the shuttle bus in all ports
