But now you’re *stuck* stuck down there, with *no way* out other than the possibility of (somehow) finding a way out or to completely restart your game.

The detail of changing save files being the way to complete the maze is GENIUS! When you pointed out the fact that the different save files were being monitored in the code and how in the stripped down menu gaster is paying attention to how we mess around with the save files, that those elements could have an affect on the story-I never thought of how it could be taken in this kind of direction! The idea that we could have to use the multiple save files to traverse the bunker is so inline with this game and gaster’s connection with the save files-and just, Jesus CHRIST I am so excited!! August 10th here we come!!
The save file maze is very cool but I'm just imagining being a kid and being like 6/7 of the way through Deltarune and then your sibling is like "sorry dude I had to delete your save file to get the secret ending, sucks to be you"

Most of the top comments are talking about the announcement, but I wanna talk about the video itself, because this was SO tense, I loved it! The endless stairwell part with the slowly growing static noise, the sudden silence of the hallways, the slow buildup of the very difficult-to-describe sounds of unclear origin, it all gave me massive Silent Hill 2 vibes. Some REALLY good video game horror, and all leading up to one of the most hype video announcements I've seen in a while, I'm SO excited! This whole video in relation to Deltarune itself is some real Ben Drowned type stuff, and of similarly high quality too. Masterful work, can't wait for the metaphorical anvil that is Part 3 to drop on my head in a little over a week!

some thoughts: - is "DEVICE_THEORY" a reference to the file names discussed in part 1? if so, that's super clever!! - i'm guessing this is your representation of the inside of the bunker... it reminds me a lot of the unused rooms in undertale (and other games), where there's an established 'structure' to the level, but it still has a strong feeling of... somewhere we're not supposed to reach and see, but exists regardless. i'm fascinated by unused or otherwise strange areas in games - i really love how the video and audio slowly gets more compressed the closer kris gets to the computer. with how it suddenly turns to our world, i wonder if that's supposed to sort of signify kris getting closer to the 'source' (or at least, a representation of it within the... dark world? i'm not sure (or possibly the depths? is that what this place could be?)) of the 'connection' (the DEVICE?) between our world and theirs, until they either reach it or are given the ability to "look into heaven." i know we're probably not supposed to look into it too deeply, but i like theorizing >< - the noise that comes in at 6:14 reminds me a lot of 2 things: + the track "in my way" from undertale, but like a heavily distorted and slightly remixed version? + sort of like... a heart? or just generally sounds you would hear inside a body? no idea if i'm on the right track, or if it's not connected to anything in particular at all >< - 6.5 hours omg... i'll probably have much more to say when it comes out but, massive props to you!! i can't imagine just how much work this must have been, and i can't wait to binge the whole thing >w

SIX HOURS????? oh boy do i know what i'm going to be doing on august 10th i'm so excited holy hell okay theory aside, this video is so awesome in so many ways. the hard cut to black before the dialog slowly says "no going back. only forward." feels *really* deltarune for some reason, like that just seems so on point. the simple graphics of the bunker also feel very deltarune, and this may be overanalysis but the minimalism of how the inside of the bunker looks makes it feel a lot creeper to me. the part where kris goes around in a loop for a while is a nice touch, helps build tension (and if i'm right about the loops being a downwards spiraling staircase, then it portrays the bunker as really big, too). once kris gets into the real meat of the bunker, that's when things get really interesting - the cramped nature of the pathways feels really unnerving to me, it doesn't feel like deltarune is meant to be that claustrophobic. the way kris usually avoids brushing up against the walls makes it feel more claustrophobic and unnerving to me too, although i could just be weird. having to save your file to make a change in the level design to progress is an AWESOME concept, feels very dramatic and deltarune-y, exact type of meta bullshit i would expect out of Entering The Bunker. if it wasn't clear, i really love how you designed the bunker here. anyway yeah that's all, originally was just gonna comment the first line but then i decided Screw It overanalysis time

The most unsettling part, however, is the chill that ran down my spine when I realized that Toby making us delete all of our save files in Chapter 7 is a possibility, and that my meticulously crafted Pacifist, Pacificist + Secret Bosses + Eggs, and Weird Route save files might be a big waste of time...

Holy shit Molly this teaser was amazing and chilling. The emptiness, the silence, the slow pace and the invisible walls. This actually made clearer what "darker yet darker" means. A never ending hallway, nerve wracking and yet is completely abandonned and devoid of life. Cant help make you wonder how Kris felt during that time. Either ways i cant wait for that 6hour essay the other parts were a real blast to listen to

Is Kris pretty much warping between timelines via the Save Files in the maze section with no consequences? 3. Did Kris see OUR world through the Device at the end?
The waiting was absolutely agonizing watching the player go deeper and deeper into the bunker. Should we be looking for Easter eggs in this? One of my thoughts was counting how many rooms going down there were or tracing the path the player takes, but I don’t want to invest that much effort if it’s not gonna be something in the end lol

okay theory aside, this video is so awesome in so many ways. the hard cut to black before the dialog slowly says "no going back. only forward." feels *really* deltarune for some reason, like that just seems so on point. the simple graphics of the bunker also feel very deltarune, and this may be overanalysis but the minimalism of how the inside of the bunker looks makes it feel a lot creeper to me. the part where kris goes around in a loop for a while is a nice touch, helps build tension (and if i'm right about the loops being a downwards spiraling staircase, then it portrays the bunker as really big, too). once kris gets into the real meat of the bunker, that's when things get really interesting - the cramped nature of the pathways feels really unnerving to me, it doesn't feel like deltarune is meant to be that claustrophobic. the way kris usually avoids brushing up against the walls makes it feel more claustrophobic and unnerving to me too, although i could just be weird. having to save your file to make a change in the level design to progress is an AWESOME concept, feels very dramatic and deltarune-y, exact type of meta bullshit i would expect out of Entering The Bunker. if it wasn't clear, i really love how you designed the bunker here.

The most unsettling part, however, is the chill that ran down my spine when I realized that Toby making us delete all of our save files in Chapter 7 is a possibility, and that my meticulously crafted Pacifist, Pacificist + Secret Bosses + Eggs, and Weird Route save files might be a big waste of time...

Holy shit Molly this teaser was amazing and chilling. The emptiness, the silence, the slow pace and the invisible walls. This actually made clearer what "darker yet darker" means. A never ending hallway, nerve wracking and yet is completely abandonned and devoid of life. Cant help make you wonder how Kris felt during that time.
Either ways i cant wait for that 6hour essay the other parts were a real blast to listen to

EDIT: I just got done watching the video. And this was sick, honestly! I love how absolutely surrealistic the Bunker is. Though, I have some questions:
1. I suppose the Window was formed out of the shards that are the Shadow Crystals in the Light World?
2. Is Kris pretty much warping between timelines via the Save Files in the maze section with no consequences?
3. Did Kris see OUR world through the Device at the end?

The waiting was absolutely agonizing watching the player go deeper and deeper into the bunker. Should we be looking for Easter eggs in this? One of my thoughts was counting how many rooms going down there were or tracing the path the player takes, but I don’t want to invest that much effort if it’s not gonna be something in the end lol
