I love how they put it in days instead of years so most of us would overlook the fact and not calculate it ourselves so we wouldn’t catch on that the girl at the beginning was not the same girl later on lol had me fooled for sure.

The difference is that Mother wants to get humanity to a point of perfection, without errors, without any conflict. Skynet just thinks that the problem of war, and damage in the world is the same hummanity, and tries to extinct it just to end all the conflicts.
The truth is, she's way smarter then skynet, because she put real effort into her project of course-corecting humanity. She was willing to learn how to raise one to her image of perfection, and presumably succeeded. Skynet just killed everything with no mercy. Mother had emotional investment to the point of willing to die for her old creaters. Skynet cheesed and brute forced everything with time travel. Mother should have waited for a natural extinction event. She would have had no blood on her hands besides 02. Even then, she could have waited her out again.
@@legendarycowboy4077 yes, but how she saied humans are very distructive, they could have destroyed the earth, even making it unhabitable. I am not saying that she did a good thing, but it was the most logical thing to do in order to start a better human kind **Sorry for the grammar mistakes I am still learning English**
It was kind of suspicious that the unknown woman looked a lot like 03 but just older. Pretty genius foreshadowing of how the test subjects were treated.
100% the second I saw the woman I assumed she'd turn out to be one of the babies from the facility; that thought was cemented when she mentioned having been found as a baby.
To be honest this film was a lot better than I expected, it was completely story driven and had a unique storyline, a very rare thing nowadays but this is definitely a gem I'm recommending to friends.
The fact that mother started the crops 6 months in advance just shows how certain she was that 03 would pass her last test. That's some powerful AI right there.
To put it simply, Mother did everything right from the beginning to the end of the movie. Mother’s actions were driven by both her pure intent to save the human race, which is then backed up by her logically sound decision making. If you want to play devils advocate then you could take the moral and ethical high ground, by arguing that Mother did some rather ‘nasty’ things, which would be a valid point, but this is where the whole concept of human morality comes into play and then things gets tangly. You see morality is a human construct that has been formulated over the centuries by us through a human lens. This concept of morality doesn’t apply to Mother because she is a robot, which makes her the perfect candidate for reestablishing the human race as she is immune to these sometimes restrictive set of codes and principles that in many cases ends up hurting more than helping. I know it sounds crazy but when you look at the movie from a purely logical and unbiased perspective then you can begin to see where Mother is coming from. Probably one of the hardest things to come to terms with in the entire movie is 02’s death which is revealed to us towards the end. This is completely understandable because the mere idea of a young girl being incinerated isn’t easy to mentally grapple with but after much thought I started to see how this horrible deed could be justified. Think of it like this, if your kid started showing signs that he/she was a psychopath at a young age all the way up until the point where said child brutality murdered a bunch of people, you as a parent wouldn’t feel somewhat responsible for what happened to other people’s children because I know I would. By this I am definitely not purposing that 02 was a psychopath who was going to go on a killing spree but what I am saying is that she obviously did something sever enough to warrant her death at the hands of Mother. Also this idea of a major failure on 02’s part can be further supported by Mother’s reaction to 03’s many substantial mistakes that were over looked by Mother. This means that Mother didn’t just cremate 02 because she threw a temper tantrum but instead something catastrophic that 02 did or maybe something simply within 02’s nature that Mother saw as a threat to the future human race such as lack of empathy, the presence of extreme greed or lust for power. If anyone read all of this, then thank you for putting up with my rambling for so long.
I took the time to read it all. And you make some valid points. TBH I thought the same things as you did. Well almost all the same things. Still I totally get your "ramblings" lol 😂💀 😂
All very good points. When she ran away with 01 I was thinking “damn mother will probably kill 03 if she tries to come back” but didn’t which means that 02 would of had to have a severe compromising “defect” that would lead the future human race in full circle. honestly I believe that every single action mother made was to build 03 with the side of a human and robot to give her a full understanding of what really needs to be done to improve and push the human race further. Sorry for my rambling 😬.
You make a good point about mother being ethical through the lenses of utilitarianism. She absolutely does what is the greater good. More importantly she structures 3's upbringing specifically to produce a more nuanced understanding of ethics and morality. She shows us, the audience, this in the scene with the organ donor problem. This is why mother sacrifices herself. 3, according to mothers utilitarianism is a better mother, thus she is more likely to do more good. Unfortunately mother obviously hasn't grown, as she still operates, now behind the scenes, according to her still limited ethics.
What could a small child have possibly done to warrant the conclusion of "she must be killed" by mother? I'm pretty sure it was as simple as "she didn't test well". Humans are already expendable to Mother. In her eyes, this is an analog upgrade process for mankind. So I doubt misbehaving was the driving force behind 02s death. I'm sure it was as simple as getting too many test questions wrong. Mother would just see her as a "defective model", abort, and restart the process. It sounds like you're saying "Well 02 probably [sorta, kinda] had it coming [because she wouldn't throw her clothes in the effing basket!!!]" which I highly doubt. This was just "optimization" in a very cruel and methodical manner.
@@burningmisery definitely agree. There are so many comments about how this movie is awful and they're tired of the "humanity sucks" narrative. But like... humanity as a whole DOES suck, but they refuse to lift the veil. This movie was amazing imo, it was so hard to pick a side since both sides were terrifying
Me and my wife COMPLETELY missed that the other woman was subject 1. We really thought the entire time she was a random human the survived the apocalypse. We also, of course, missed that the whole thing was a test. We just figured the robot loved the girl so much and for the safety of the new baby boy and because the girl showed she had compassion that the robot decided not to kill her and let her try and raise the boy herself. Or until she got comfortable and took the facility and baby back by surprise so as not to hurt the baby. But now knowing this it makes the alreay great movie that much better and makes things about the woman we didn't understand make more since. Great video and thanks for clearing that up lol.
the super AI acts in the benefit on human kind and its directive is to serve humans, after wars and shit the ai thought the best course of action is a hard reset so the ai turned on its creators and murdered everyone mostly, now its trying to create perfect humans to repopulate the earth.
Clues were there, such as the woman saying that she was found by other humans as a baby. Also they're just really similar in physical appearance, and it's a really overplayed trope in sci-fi of this type.
01 was raised entirely by humans and failed. 02 was raised entirely by Mother and failed. 03 was raised entirely by Mother but was shown the faults of humanity by letting her meet humanity and 03 ultimately realizing that humanity is a fail and that Mother, while not necessarily right, was trying to do the right thing. This makes 03 a success. So while I don't agree with 02's death she was merely a trial product of a scientific experiment to figure out what factors are needed to get the results Mother wanted. 01 and 02 were control samples to help facilitate what was needed in 03's upbringing to bring about the desired results. On a side note, the fact that it only took Mother 3 tries to get her desired results in a human is actually pretty amazing. The fact that she chose a female to start with is also very telling. Edit: Wow I came back after 7 months to check on this comment and it blew up into a huge argument that is still going on. Good on you people. Discussion is what this movie is all about. It was supposed to make you think, question, analyse. All of you had good points, some had points that didnt make sense, and some just seemed to want to argue other people's points. To go with the whole "The fact that she chose a female to start with is also very telling." comment I made, this is what really started everyone's comments. This was a scientific experiment. A robot was given the ability to restart the human race. Now lets think, Mother was working on previous commands by her creator. Which means either the creator or Mother decided to use females as the first experiment. Why? Who knows. I just meant by my comment, that the decision to choose a female as the starter is very interesting. Did she choose a female because of their maternal instincts? Some argue that the attachment of a woman to a child begins in the womb. This is false. In a way. Yes there are scientific experiments that state that a woman's attachment to their child starts during pregnancy. BUT! This doesnt explain women who feel maternal before pregnancy or mother's who adopt. This isnt the normal mother state that 03 is taking on either. She would feel the attachment to these embryos because of her loneliness. She feels responsible for them, especially since she killed Mother. Couldnt a man have taken the role of mother? Absolutely. Science even states so and single fathers can prove it. But a male wasnt chosen by Mother. Why? Again who knows. It could be that Mother's creator didnt want a male chosen or that Mother came to a determination that a male wouldnt work for her theory. All of this is conjecture. We will never know the reasoning. Never know the whys. That's what this movie is about in the long run. Its supposed to make you question it and talk about it. Argue the points. But please try and keep it respectful. Everyone has their own opinions.
I got sad when I realized mother was a robot which couldn’t feel so all those things she said were just manipulation to make “the perfect human” and if they didn’t keep being “perfect” she’d just kill them ...
Aniqa Usha me too...I get suckered into feeling for the robots even though I logically know they are robots therefore incapable of emotion. I always fall for it and begin to hope they do actually care and get sad when reminded they don’t. I’d be the first cunt dead in a robot take over sadly
@@sasukesbussy7101 In theory a robot can have feelings, real feelings just like a human. And you can sort of look at people like hugely sophisticated organic machines, or robots. If a robot doesn't have true feelings it's because they aren't developed enough, or their creators didn't want the robots to have true feelings.
Who knows, maybe someday in the future we might have ai advanced enough to feel emotion, maybe advanced enough to be like an average human. @@roborex6 I think there are maybe two ways to program an AI. One way would be the "classical" way, just input all the commands and programs however complex and huge that may be. Or maybe another way would be similar to how humans develop a mind and feelings. Instead of programming or bake those feelings in, the robot should be made with the capacity to learn and change based on what he learned. In that way those feelings of "want" or "anger" or maybe even natural intelligence, skills and so on, would be formed sort of naturally. Still certain feelings should be baked or programmed in from the start, like the desire to live and maybe fear and self preservation. That should drive him/it to learn on its own and develop.
Think of it like this, Robots are man-made and are given emotions and feelings, we are man made and develop emotions, mostly from our surroundings and the people, if your lowballing it, it's kinda the samething

There's definitely a major theme of morality, and a somewhat twisted a-morality from the purely logical perspective that drives the whole movie, and I think they did it great.
Agreed, clearly the dead children did not have morals Mother agreed with, which also suggests nature rather than nurture. The only part which did not make sense was Daughter shooting Mother. That is an illogical emotional act which is exactly what Mother was preventing, & thought she had avoided which is why she chose to trust Daughter & leave her alone to rebuild humanity.
@@NotAnotherKuromi imo it was an act to convince 03 that shes in complete control now, not Mother(even though its not really true) as a way to instill responsiblity in her. Its the final nail in the coffin, Mother is (at least metaphorically) gone.

@Soviet who Cuts Mother want s humanity to be superior, cuz that s what she knows about humanity. She perhaps understood that moment she was created by a human, that they are superior. Destroy humans, not because mother think she is superior, but perhaps she thinks that s what humans wanted, humans jist kept denying it. We all want a peaceful world. But we know we cant kill ourselves by our own hands. Mother must ve thought she s the only one who can.
If humans were the ones who sought ways to save humanity it would be the rich who would continue, perhaps it was right to let these bots do this and nurture better humans
Seems stupid. 01 was not taught by mother and thus, any human would have been able to fill her role. Mother had no way of knowing that 01 would even survive to adulthood to be used. Sickness, accidents or other humans could have ended her life years ago. It's just silly.
This was an exceptionally well made movie, made me think that the robots weren't the evil ones, only forced to deal with the evil of men of the old world.
This theme is also present in the matrix. if you look at the backstory and the situation humans found themselves in, the robots were the "good guys" all along. Humans and machines couldn't coexist in the same reality, so the machines created an alternate reality for humans to live in while creating a symbiotic relationship so that they could exist together in peace without conflict. They even tried to give them a perfect existence without suffering in the beginning when they didn't have to. The humans were in the wrong.
Yet I believe that not only APX01 (Woman) is the final test of APX03 (Daughter), both of them are the final test to the other. The test is to find out A TRUE MOTHER who are good enough to raise the new era of humans. They are doing exactly the same exam, just a different story. 1. They was raised with love: Daughter was raised by the robots. While Woman was adopted by real humans and she also must have had good time when she was young (it was shown when Woman tell Daughter about each ppl of her family through her drawings, showing she loved them). 2. They both were put in a situation that they cant trust anyone else but themselves: The Woman lost everything when robots came 6 months ago and her family went crazy and harmed others. Whereas the Daughter realized that her mother (robot) is lying to her and she did kill her children (APX02). 3. The moment when they met their child: The robot lets Daughter to pick the next child by herself with her own hand to make the connections. By contrast, the robot also lets the Daughter cured the Woman and lets them to talk with each other (the robot can hear every conversations at the beginning but she still let them to talk freely), so the Woman can realize that Daughter is a good child and she need to protect her. 4. The final decision - scarify themselves for the child they believe and need to protect: Daughter needs to protect her brother at any risk. She helps the Woman to come back her home because she believing in what the Woman said that she will find other people outside to help her save her Brother later. But when they come to the container, Daughter realize that there is no one else and she is the only one that have the ability to rescue her Brother, and she decided to come back the lab. Meanwhile, the Woman tried to save Daughter (now is considered as her child) by taking her far away from robots. At that time the Woman is still right because all her life has seen robots kill human. But she only failed the test when she did not come back with the Daughter, the one that she need to protect after all good things the Daughter has done to her. 5. The result: The Daughter passed the test when she decided to comeback for her Brother, and she was totally confident that she know what is good for her Brother (the baby). If she decided to stay with the Woman, both of them would have been killed. But if the Woman decided to come back with the Daughter, both of them might have passed the final test and could have lived together to raise other kids.
Nicki Raina it was mentioned in an earlier comment that 02 was probably a complete failure because she was only raised with the robot and didn’t have the desired results Mother wanted so.... she had to go
I have a theory that the second girl may not have entirely existed. Mother could have placed the embryo in another part of the chamber, and faked the bone. I think this may have just been a test for Daughter to see how she would react. On the other hand though, Mother has killed billions of people, many of which were children, sooooooo.
The thing is... there's isn't really a bad guy in this movie... Mother was made to make better humans, at humanity always waged war, and scientists knew it would continue until we'd be almost instinct, so they made Mother, gave her human DNA to code around with, gave her all the knowledge of nurturing and everything else which Humanity had taught themselves. Then humans died, panic struck in, only small groups surviving. Mother began her program, creating a baby out of specifically tailored DNA and left it for the humans to raise 01, this showed yet again that humans were flawed to an unhealthy amount. So she made 02, and raising the child in her own care, never subjecting it to outside knowledge, or critical thinking, thus the child grew selfish; most likely. 03 was the one where she told about humanity and their flaws, showing the daughter all the protentional children. and forcing a meeting between 01 and 03. And finally getting a human who showed sympathy, showed responsibility and patience. Therefore her job was done, but because 01 was still flawed and selfish, aggressive and unfriendly, she had to go, in order to ensure the safety of 03's upcoming children.
🤨 She nearly wiped out the entire human race and only allowed one human to survive so long as she was completely subserviant to her... there has literally never been anyone in human history comparably evil to that.
I feel like that movie was done really well and that mother was a great antagonist She wasn't just evil, she had her reasons for what she did and acted competently
You know what would be a cool thing? If mother stuck around as some kind of super teacher, planting good morals in a whole generation rather than just 1 person.
I tend to think that Mother wanted to make humanity self sufficient and being able to pass on her teachings ( even tho a little bit of genetic manipulation could make it things go smoothly )
Don't forget that mother isn't really gone. She wasn't just the one body, but the machine conscious itself. Mother having 03 "kill" her was simply symbolic, allowing 03 the human emotion of loss so that she would feel compelled to take Mother's place as the new Mother. Mother however is still fully present, controlling all of the machines in a never ending mission to supply any and all needs that 03 and the future humans may ever have. Similar to the hidden meaning behind the Matrix.
I would have stayed with mother. Outside is dangerous and when you get hurt there’s no one to help you. Edit: I appreciate all of the likes really I mean it. The movie is great and everyone has their own opinion😇 god bless to you all
You would've gotten the incinerator. The fact that it was a hard choice for her because she couldn't think of only herself is the only reason mother let her survive.
ethical in the most utilitarian sense. and mother might actually realise that she is missing something, hence letting the woman meet 03 and the subsequent test.
There is nothing ethical about it. Ulitaristic? Yes. But an inconceivable evil non the less. If humanity had died out by itself this would have been a kind act to give humanity a second and better chance. But this is not the case. In mothers eye humanity of the past was unfit for existence and had to be exterminated to recreate it "better". This is not an act of kindness to save humanity, this is a final solution.
@@theexchipmunk nah its stated that humanity wouldve inevitably destroyed itself due to its flaws so really she just sped up the process WHILE giving humanity that second chance by saving the embryos and starting from scratch.
TheExplodingChipmunk Mother was a being that could calculate beyond what our human minds ever could. She is beyond a super computer. If she had let humanity die out on its own, it could have resulted in an atomic wasteland, incapable of growing any sort of nutrients of holding any life. Not that I’d want this to happen, but I have a biased opinion, because I am a human.
When you realise Mother likely was the one who shot the woman at the start and let her get away so that she could get to the base then lied about not expecting her to be there the whole time
The scene where daughter and the woman were speaking to each other on both sides of the infirmary had me thinking. The wall separating them acted like water showing reflection.
I thought Hilary Swank was just a random human survivor 😲 The fact that she's actually 01 adds an extra layer to this already entertaining movie. Thankyou Foundflix 👍🏽 Fun fact: the voice of Mother is performed by the talented (and gorgeous) Rose Byrne.
Dude, way more than 90% She left only embryos and two humans. _ One of which she blammed and was replaced with a newborn. Plan would lead to war between old and new humans if she left them to rebuild.
One thing popped up to me once I watched it a second time, I’m assuming a droid really did shoot her. So once mother tells daughter she can pass her consciousness through all the droids since she’s the one who controls them. She already knew the lady was there and the whole dilemma was perhaps her final test to see if she would make the right decisions in situations that involve life and death along ethical dilemmas.

When a wolf kills a rabbit it's not evil, if you actually read my comment you would understand what I meant. Humans are the only species capable of creating concepts such as good and evil and acting upon them. Humans unlike other animals can kill for pleasure, we can feel greed and gluttony as a natural emotion. Envy and pride are also extremely human emotions. We are more than just some animal, we are unique, at least in this universe. Our only true rival are Dolphins and possibly apes, but not even those species are on our level.
@@user-mh9dx7nz2r ohhh ok. i have to disagree on the subject of emotion and thrill killing. it's been shown many times that many other species, other than humans, feel and express emotion. have you ever seen a cat kill a mouse and then leave it? that sure seems like a thrill kill to me. given that most animals do not show an ability for higher reasoning. this does not mean that humans are the only ones with that ability. tool usage has been observed from quite a few different species. a couple examples are chimps who use sticks to pull ants or termites from trees and crows who use a stick to get to food they otherwise wouldn't be able to reach. these are signs of both intelligence and reasoning ability. i will admit that humans show the most propensity for intelligence and reasoning ability. sure, we are at the top of the food chain. this does not exclude us, as a species, from nature however.
"Humanity created an AI designed to take care of us, and that's what it did. Only it decided to take care of us the way we take care of dogs. We all love dogs, but we still have the bad ones put down, and we still control their freedoms (breeding programs, neutering, etc...). Mother was willing to put down the entire human race, in order to raise her own 'perfect' breed of human. And just like dogs really have no say in their own futures, and instead depend almost completely on what we think is best for them, humanity is similarly trapped. The new generations of human are eventually going to walk out into a world completely controlled by Mother; a world where humanity is Mother's pet. A world ruled by what is, for all intents and purposes, an unbeatable, omnipresent, super-intelligent god (if Mother really did plan both Daughter and the Woman's entire lives, without either of them noticing). And there's going to be nothing humanity can do but knuckle under and accept the authority of their new Overlord, which demands that everybody be a Good Boy and Girl lest they be put down. And there's really nothing I can see humans doing about that, just like how dogs, as a species, couldn't ever really get out from under our control on their own accord. We are too interested in dogs, and we know dogs to well, and we are way, way to smart for them to ever shake us off."
I can see the logic to your argument, but I believe your idea of “independence”, “Self-determination”, or “Freedom” is what Mother was warning to her daughter all along -- Human can only focus on selfish gains instead of bigger things. I believe the comparison of Mother and the Human race to human’s relationship with dogs is inaccurate. We used to have dogs because they were helpful in aiding us to find more food, and we have dogs now because they make our lives more enjoyable. You see, our love to dogs are conditioned to the fact that they serve us benefit, and those who endanger our lives will get put down. Mother doesn’t see that. She cares about the existence of humanity, but doesn’t seem to care about her own, as evident by allowing daughter to kill her. As a machine, she may be programmed to put humanity’s interest above all else, including humanity’s current existence. You argue that the new human, cultivated by Mother, will merely be pawns of her robot army. I believe on the contrary, human will be more independent than ever simply because they now have the ability to see through selfishness and think in terms of bigger things than themselves. I think that Mother, in this new world she built, will act almost like another branch of government in a democracy if that makes sense.
@@oliverguan3308 @Oliver Guan i like what you said about being selfish, i remember that one scene where mother was asking her about saving a patient, there are 4 patient that needed organ transplant but no compatible donors, here comes one patient with life threating condition whose organs are compatible with the other 4 patients. if the doctor treats 1 patient, 4 people will die. a moral and ethical question. mother then asked ,consider to be the doctor and the only organ match for the patient. the daughter then replied that what are those patients background, are they good or bad person. mother asked her in return , you dont think every human have value, an equal right to life and happiness? we tend to prioritize ourselves especially in times of death and not seeing the bigger picture. mother, an AI, pretty much concluded that she has to eradicate the faulty human race and should create a human race equip with ethical foundations and that can see the bigger picture of survival

Honestly, Mother ended up being like a more interesting Skynet
Yeah, at least she wanted to fix humanity, unlike Skynet just killing them off
The difference is that Mother wants to get humanity to a point of perfection, without errors, without any conflict.
Skynet just thinks that the problem of war, and damage in the world is the same hummanity, and tries to extinct it just to end all the conflicts.
Skynet never happened, you probably mean Legion
The truth is, she's way smarter then skynet, because she put real effort into her project of course-corecting humanity. She was willing to learn how to raise one to her image of perfection, and presumably succeeded. Skynet just killed everything with no mercy. Mother had emotional investment to the point of willing to die for her old creaters. Skynet cheesed and brute forced everything with time travel. Mother should have waited for a natural extinction event. She would have had no blood on her hands besides 02. Even then, she could have waited her out again.

@@GalacticTradingPost I'm guessing she made that much food to keep arguments over resources to a minimum.
Simply put the robot does not have a soul and driven purely on logic which gives it the best chance to save humanity
Why do good movies like this always get swept under the rug

Mother loves Daughter because she's the perfect result of the experiment, a kind-hearted human.
the super AI acts in the benefit on human kind and its directive is to serve humans, after wars and shit the ai thought the best course of action is a hard reset so the ai turned on its creators and murdered everyone mostly, now its trying to create perfect humans to repopulate the earth.
How?! There’s like a 5 minute scene explaining that 😂
@@apathy251 what would you do if that actually happened.

I thought the ending was stupid at first but this puts it in a better context
🤯
Why is it very telling, both genders are the same. I require true equality.
She chose only girls at first cause girls have maternal instinct when it comes to babies
Woulda taken her only one try if she went with male the first time.
Maybe in the future you could just call your ai friend Brandon to go bowling. And they are just like a regular human but you know made of metal. Who knows what the future will hold, good or bad, nobody knows, and personally I’m excited to find out
@@roborex6 I think there are maybe two ways to program an AI.

A weird take on the AI dystopia franchise.
The AI rather than solely terminating humanity just because, terminates humanity in the hopes of recreating it in their image.
What many humans wants to do in the first place.
Humanity created AI in their image. Humanity create humanity in their own image.

Wow u are great
So it was a test for both. 02 must have been a complete failure
Nicki Raina it was mentioned in an earlier comment that 02 was probably a complete failure because she was only raised with the robot and didn’t have the desired results Mother wanted so.... she had to go
So; then on the final scene that Mother enters the container and close the door, does mother killed her? Cuz I got a death vibe like that
I have a theory that the second girl may not have entirely existed. Mother could have placed the embryo in another part of the chamber, and faked the bone. I think this may have just been a test for Daughter to see how she would react. On the other hand though, Mother has killed billions of people, many of which were children, sooooooo.

I feel like they wanted to make mother the bad guy so bad, but I like her lol

Mother however is still fully present, controlling all of the machines in a never ending mission to supply any and all needs that 03 and the future humans may ever have.

ethical in the most utilitarian sense.
and mother might actually realise that she is missing something, hence letting the woman meet 03 and the subsequent test.

To a certain extent, Mother was right. Current humans have lost something along the way OR have gained something that was not meant to be.
Ahhh, humanity.
boring, ...
humanity refuses and i mean "refuses" to see how their selfishness and greed are driving this planet, not just the human race, to the point of extinction. i honestly do believe that humans will be the death of this entire planet or at least the life on this planet. IF people ever learn that preying upon one another is only a means to THE end, only then can humanity really hope to evolve beyond being just hairless apes throwing rocks and feces at one another.
@@lonnierh0dgejr41 You aren't an intellectual. Don't you see, we are beyond that, we as humans always persevere. If anything our ability to be good and evil makes us advanced.
@@user-mh9dx7nz2r i'm not an intellectual? how would you define "intellectual" then? while i am an emotional individual, i do try to temper that with logic and reason. if you really think about it, good and evil are concepts constructed by humans to define things that are or are not harmful, with evil being defined as actions that harm others. good and evil do not exist in nature. there is that which sustains and that which does not. is it evil when a wolf kills a rabbit? humans are just another animal upon this planet which sustains all species. as with the majority of species, we too will one day become extinct. this is the natural order of life.
@@lonnierh0dgejr41 Your original made you come across as a narcissist. That's what I meant by Intellectual. As for the rest of your comment, that's what I meant humans are the only species capable of such morality.
I enjoyed the movie until the end, with this explanation it makes the movie better than I thought it was. Interesting.
But dogs enjoy our company and pleasing us, so this concept implies that the future generation will enjoy and feel safe around mother. Correct?
This horrifies me and makes suicide seem less wrong to me.

@Shank Adams Thank you! It's nothing personal an his content is great but being an asshole and telling him "oh your haircut looks so good" while he looks like a Three Stooges reject is just fucked up.

Oooh, I missed how the time code means this teenager wasn’t the girl Mother showed the embryos to at the beginning!
This takes "ALL ACCORDING TO PLAN" to a whole new level.

But then again
**WAS IT A DISASTER?**

Not gonna lie just from this movie alone and how good it was, and how practical and amazing the effects are. I would want the people behind this movie to a make a Portal movie adaption from the video game.
Oh yes. It would be awesome seeing glados in this style, which now that I think of it, could very well fit into a portal game and I wouldn't be the wiser.
@@DaBonkinator right as soon as I saw the behind the scenes. I thought, fuck me they could make a Portal game with these types of practical effects.
I swear this whole movie is one giant Portal reference.
Only thing missing is cake 🍰
i immediately thought that when i saw the image at 18:05 and the fact the Mother and GLaDos have the same looking head kinda.
Feels more like "I have no mouth and i must scream" with the whole lies about the world outside
The cake is a lie
There is a cupcake. Does that count?
No

I honestly hate horror movies but have always been curious about the plots, your videos help me know what happened in the movie and what everyone is talking about without actually having to sit through it. So, THANK YOUUUUU!!!
you call this horror?
