They used to do demonstrations making pineapple upside-down cake in the skillet. I've been familiar with stainless steel waterless cookware for many years also. That is a great buy. Thank you.
This is Kathryn, not David, but I bought Salad Master in 1986 at a dinner party held in my home. The guy cooked a meal for you and 5 guests. I think I paid around $500 or $600 for them then. They still look brand new and I use them every day. I use BarKeeper's Friend to clean them with and even the bottoms of the pans are shiny. I don't put them in the dishwasher though. Love your videos, Tammy!
I bought a set of Saladmaster in 1969. It contained All the cookware, an electric skillet, a meat grinder and a starter China set. It cost a whopping $600. That was a lot of money back then. I am still using it. Needs some handles (I think I installed them incorrectly) other than that, the cookware is still perfect. I would recommend Saladmaster.
Saladmaster has a parts catalog on their website. You can match the handles with the generation and size of your cookware. I bought two side handles for two different size pots, and they were different, but the price was about $8.50 for each pair plus shipping.
Thank you for sharing this information with the rest of us. Now that it's been a few years how is this new stainless steel set holding up as compared to the saladmaster which is the titanium /stainless steel? Healthwise what is the difference between the two I know titanium is very non-reactive and won't leech and also helps to make it naturally nonstick how does that compare to the steel of the new set? Perhaps another video reviewing after you've had it and used it for a couple years and comparing the pros and cons of both would be a good idea.
Thank you for this video. I appreciate you showing us an alternative. I think the thing that bothers me about Salad Master is the cost for sure but that they say that they have NO ALUMINUM in their pans. That is blatantly false. The 'core IS aluminum'. Most if not all cookware have an aluminum core for quick/efficient heating with the exception of Cast Iron cookware. It is the same rule that applies to 'all' cookware that is non toxic.. that is as long as the pan is without chips, large dents, huge scrapes or repeated extreme heat, then it remains non toxic. If the integrity of the pan has been compromised then that is when the pans are not 'non toxic' any more and leeching of the aluminum core begins to get into your food. Yes, this applies to ANY cookware, including Salad Master. Curious though if this Maxam cookware has Titanium in them? Probably not. That would account for the higher price on Salad Master cookware.
@@MrAnter1975 I have many brands of cookware, I love and use them all. Le Creuset, Scan Pan, Merten & Storck and Brandani. We bought a set of Emeril Lagasse branded stainless cookware from Bed Bath and Beyond about 3 years ago and have been quite happy with it. At the time, it was made by All-Clad, but a lighter grade than their branded product. It wasn’t a large set, but had the essentials, with large and small skillets, a 12” sauté pan, small and medium sauce pans, and a decent sized stock/stew pot. It also included a heavy grade baking sheet and a cast iron grill pan as a “bonus” piece. If I recall correctly, the set was on sale for about $200. One nice feature is that they are all metal with no plastic in the handles or lids, thus every piece is oven safe. We added a rounded bottom saucier at the same time. The only cookware we have added since then is an Amazon Basics enameled cast iron Dutch oven, similar to the very expensive Le Creuset, but much cheaper at under $50.
What a great looking set of pots and pans. I am not buying them, as I have enough, but if I were in the market I would sure look at these. Thanks for the help!!!

Hello Tammy, Your Maxim bottom of the skillet has the seal on it. Is that the skillet you bought separately? I am curios because the bottoms shown on the box and in the photo for the advertisement have no seal on them. Thank you
Collard Valley Cooks Hi Tammy, I bought the cookware after you replied. The cookware came today. Boy-oh-boy am I impressed. Can’t wait to start cooking with them. The lid knobs are patent. I hope this covers any questions. Enjoy your cookware.
I have some that I bought 45 years ago. It was home party sale deal. It is called Towncraft waterless cookware with many pcs in the set. Very pricey though way back then. I will look for that new set you bought. Although mine is still in pretty good shape. Thanks.
I love my Salad Master pots to death. We bought our set back in 1989 and I still use them today. I also got the shredder. That I wouldn’t take anything for. However in todays world I can’t invest that much money in them. I want to get my daughter and my daughter in law the copy set but can’t find it on your site.
