One of the greatest performances ever in a Royal Rumble match ....that match my eyes never left the screen cause I knew flair would stay till the end ....over 50 minutes in the ring....unbelievable....stamina and endurance .....against a top roster of WWF talent with many strong wrestlers and Flair proved again who the best and greatest is .........I just wanted to see Hogan and Flair in the end......and I knew that Flair like he has done in the past would outsmart his competition .........he didn't disappoint.......NWA champion and then WWF champion.......to be a champion in two big promotions is a huge achievement .........Flair proved his legacy there.......after that match ......just disappointed the dream match of Flair vs. Hogan didn't happen at Wrestlemania 8 ....cause I always wanted to see that match of the two best champions at that time .......but the match did happen later in WCW after when Flair returned to the WCW .....which in my opinion didn't have as much hype attached to it but was still a good match to watch........Flair always shines in cages matches, battle royals and any match that you can throw at him which shows his versatility and durability to think beyond a one on one match and still give the fans a memory worthy entertaining match ........testament to his dedication to the sport and great performance driven athletic ability ..........How can you not say he is the best ever at wrestling?.........time and time again he proves it .......
Vince saying only "good job" is far from being insulting, in fact it's one heck of a great compliment. It just shows that Vince knew exactly that Ric could go out there for 60 minutes and deliver a wonderful performance, and that he wasn't shocked or surprised by it. If he would have been in awe of it then that would have meant that he had no idea Ric could work that well for that long, and that would have been insulting. Vince knew Ric was capable of doing it.
Also let's face it wrestlers can have fragile egos, especially back then when the lockerroom was more cutthroat. As great as Ric was and as accomplished as he was even by that point he was still the new guy in the lockerroom so if a main stay saw Vince gushing over to Ric suddenly they'd be jealous and that would spread throughout the lockerroom. "I saw Vince fawn over Ric, that's his new boy he's pushing to the moon. etc. etc." so Vince smartly didn't want to make a scene of things.
Vince is a BOSS.I have never known in my lifetime, one to come up and praise to me...the tasks you have performed lately are the excellence of execution. In the wrestling business if they suck up to talent overly graciously,...said talent would be thinking how much can my next contract be inflated by,or how brighter and greener are other pastures.
For Vince to say that to Ric flair is a slap to the face Ric is one of the greatest to ever step into the ring and steal the show I think he deserved more than a good job.
@@jonathan.s993 It's not a slap in the face. Randy Savage doesn't sign Ric Flair's paychecks. If your boss wants you to do something and you don't do it, you don't get to be upset if he's disappointed in you. You knew what you were doing.
If Vince thought Flair vs Hogan was the draw card, he SMELLS money, he would of went with it. It MOST CERTAINLY should of been, whether it had something to do with Hogan being booed in some places who would know?.Possibly also something to do with Hogan not being available for longer term.
I read that Vince didn't think Flair was drawing enough for it to happen with Hogan. Which is bs, wither its down south or up north its still Ric Flair.
Crazy thing is, if you blink, you'll miss the color at WM8, could've easily been mistaken for hardway. Strange favor to do for another wrestler after being told not to by the one who signs the check.
That 92 rumble was a great one with a lot of great names in there. Will never forget Hogan getting booed for getting Sid eliminated. Not a great booking move there.
