I'm not getting it but if I did, it would only be for the bonus and I'd downgrade after the first year. I feel like the No AF Autograph is a better card
@ScottLeRay I travel quite often but I have the Amex Platinum, Hilton Aspire, and several other cards for that. Not having domestic airline partners is a fail to me. Most people do not know you can transfer from different airlines that are in an alliance... and only having Choice as a hotel partner is meh. It was a good video though
Autograph Journey would be great for booking hotels, since no other card gives you 5x on hotels except Custom Cash, but it's limited to $500, and multiples will not help you sometimes, if it's not possible to split the payment. You don't need it for airlines, since you have Prestige.
I’d definitely get it for one yr if I was in your position, since the Autograph can still give you access to travel partners if you cancelled the Journey. The USBAR could be downgraded to the now no AF Connect & I totally see why you’d cancel the Gold. Great video 👍🏽.
Im all in with WF especially with Bilt and now WFAJ with direct hotel/flight since i travel to Asia specifically Japan, this card is a must have/keep for me. Plus Choice at 1:2 plenty of properties in Asia including Japan. Going wait until Q3 to get the WFAJ. I also will dive in with citi ecosystem, heard 2 new premium cards is in the work hopefully will be better than The Prestige card. You got great travel cards Scott, I only like Amex for ANA and their hotel cards. I personally will cancel the Gold card. I don't have any Amex core cards besides their Marriott.
In the past I've used my Altitude Reserve alot. But i'm finding that i'm using it less in less....especially in 2024. For groceries I've been using my Premier for the 3x, and like I mentioned in the video, Citi has been offering me 5x on Groceries and Gas Stations at least every other quarter with my Prestige. But that 1.5x redemption rate does come in handy. Especially when I'm country hoping in Africa every 4 or 5 days for months at a time.
$5000!! Yeah I would defiantly try to get those fees down. I just wish they had Primary CDW. Does Avianca add extra fees at checkout? I found some great deals but read online they charge a separate booking fees (I thinks $25) but I want to make sure. Salute!
@@ScottLeRay Try to see first if you can downgrade to a no annual fee option first. I don't blame you for canceling the Gold card if you get value somewhere else. Just have a card like the EveryDay card or the Blue Business Plus handy so your MR points are safe and you don't lose them.
Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service.
Thank you

I feel you. It's a big earner for people who travel A LOT. It all depends on a persons situation.

Did you apply? I wanna to but also had to respect chase 5/24, lol! Appreciate your insightful analysis brother 👍
I've had this card for a few years now. Since before the revamp.

Great video 👍🏽.
Thanks. I was also thinking about downgrading the USBAR....but we'll see though.

Thanks. I'm very interested to see what Citi does as well.
Im getting it just for the bonus. Definitely drop you amex gold since you have the normal autograph; and drop the 95$ premier!
Almost 100% sure I'm dropping the gold
@ScottLeRay i use my altitude reserve for groceries, overseas, and the 1.5x redemption. Idk how often you use yours though

My flight was 32,000 points plus $97 in taxes/fees. Well technically it was 40K points, but I got a 25% transfer bonus from Citi.

@Th33Vultur3 Thanks for the insight!
The Bilt card has primary cdw
I agree primary cdw on this card would definitely make me apply, even if I only took one or two trips a year
I would definitely keep Altitude Reserve, get rid of Gold, downgrade Premier to Custom cash.
I like it!
don't have any wells fargo credit cards but the journey is going to be my first
So far, they've been great to work with
