  • This is Parnas most popular area for people who wanna live their own apartments but don’t have enough money for Brezhnevka for example.
    The construction of houses in Russia has acquired an unprecedented pace. Every square meter is used, sometimes even to the detriment of comfort. People get used for everything. And here we go - now young russians live in such buildings like on this video. We call it "ЧЕЛОВЕЙНИКИ" it's kind of anthills but for people. Very small apartments/flats. Just one room for living, working and everything.
    My name is Dima I live in Saint Petersburg the North capital of Russia.

    I just love the scale of the place. So vast and huge. Every direction another 50 huge apartment blocks full of people. It's not pretty but it's definitely unique and it's what i really like about Russian cities.

    USA cities like New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, and most all aren´t comparable to St. Petersburg´s communities for the people who earn lesser income. To start with cleanliness, security isn´t common in US comparable communities with a few exceptions. It speaks of the difference in civic instruction, observation of basic rules that your communities exhibit as compared to American ones. 👍❤ Saint Petersburg & its people.

      Most large cities in America are governed by Democrats. Their leftist ideologies create poverty, mental illness, despair, and criminal activity.

      @@gr83172 ... I don't think Russians want that but the rest of the world probably won't give a damn. Eye for an eye, so they say. I'm referring to Ukraine, of course.

      In Russia living in apartment buildings is normal for people of all levels of income, the difference will be in quality of the materials, location, hight of the ceilings and average size of the apartments. But for all types of quarters there will be basic set of requirements - green zones, playgrounds, pedestrian pavements, schools, kindergartens, hospitals - all of it must be provided by the developer. Ground floors are also allocated for businesses. There are also quite strict rules as to the keeping public spaces. I agree with your commentary.

    I like that yall added some color to some locations. Everything we see in media over here of you guys is always grey. lots and lots and miles of grey.
    Y'all could do with some cement repair though lol. (as does my low income neighborhood, so im just being tongue in cheek)

    Hey, Dima, buddy you wrote anthill. Now I have a question? It seems to me that majority of Russian live in these huge apartments complex and only 1 or 2 bedrooms a kitchen and bathroom. I am curious. What is the average family number in Russia. In the U.S it's around 4 or 5 members, buy grant it most American houses have alot more room. Than our friends in Russia.

      Noone forces you to live in appartments, go invest in the actual house. Majority of Europeans live in appartments, in "developed" Japan people live in super tiny appartments. Now let's compare their living with evil American politicians and oligarchs.

    Don't Russians ever cut their grass? Every video I see has overgrown grass

    • @peterburh
      @peterburh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, we're don't have that cultural feature. special workers cut the grass 1-2 times a month. We have here very different types of ground and it's more difficult to take care of grass. And I have a question to you: is it just a cultural thing or you MUST do it according to some kind of law?

    • @Vikinggirl1679
      @Vikinggirl1679 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peterburh yes in most all places there are city ordinances to keep your lawn cut. It makes a place look bad and unkept if you don't and garbage and rodents would soon take over the yard. You can get a violation ticket for not keeping up your lawn. I cut mine about every 10 days very short. If you live in an apartment it is included in your rent to have the buildings maintenance people cut it.

      Bulgarian here, our panel blocks aren't that big but you don't want to mow the grass where upwards of 200 people within a radius of 100 meters can throw something at you for not letting them sleep in. Plus, open spaces are public property so pretty much everyone says "none of my business".
