Fun fact: you actually don’t have to save toad, you can just walk up to the hammer bros and fight them as usual, you even get different dialogue after the battle and when you enter the castle.
18:33 was hilarious! This is exactly what happened to king of skills with the Shy guys spam- I MEAN tactically apply pressure by skipping the player turns… (would have work if they didn’t wake-me-up ring)
Eevee beating Culex without the Lazy Shell is honestly impressive.

Surprisingly Vinny actually bothered with the wake up pin and avoided this meas of an attack.

I think if you spent a little longer getting the items back at the wedding, you get kissed by Bowser AND WAAAAAARIO-Booster
The wedding minigame is definitely based on speed. If you finish it super fast, Peach kisses Mario. Take a little longer, Booster; longer than that, Bowser.
And at an absolute snail's pace, Booster AND Bowser.

I’m sure Mario would be a Bard. Mario is consistently portrayed as someone who’s good at everything, but best at nothing. And the DnD Bard is the class that’s good at everything, best at nothing.

The man goes out of his way, spurred on by chat, to get the Lazy equipment, only to not use the armor, which would've saved him from so many character deaths and the editor a lot of headache.

34:14 Funny thing...no, it doesn't. If you manage to stay hidden the whole time, instead he fails to recognize you, spots the mario doll, and gives you a charm for knocking it down. The boss fight doesn't happen

As a fun fact, if anyone's concerned about the game changing too much -- Super Mario RPG _big fan_ and erstwhile speedrunner TieTuesday has given the remake his full seal of approval, to the point of going through a couple of runs using a guide explicitly made for the original and everything still working exactly (apart from the stuff that was explicitly based on glitches in the original like giving Peach the other party members' magic attacks). This is a SUPER FAITHFUL remake, and it is just as good as it ever was.

Tried watching this game on someone else's channel, and I just could not get interested, but Sophist's chaotic commentary made it very entertaining to watch! Sure, less lore this way, but it was very enjoyable to watch and that counts more!
