This performance is a masterpiece... minimal... timeless...ancient....emotional....great art transforms the present moment into another realm of perception... it’s intensity is there no matter how many times it’s listened to
Tremendously evocative. Simple yet deep. The hurt is palpable. “So sad, so sad.” A mondegreen for “suicide, suicide?” Let’s be honest. Bauhaus was not known for their positive messaging, but viewed from a sane/mature frame of mind it definitely evokes thoughts of mortality and hopelessness.
Still pretty the same looking.. see him just before the Heart attack.. he cut the show short by not doing encores.. no worries.. amazing to hear Bauhaus live.. cheers from Southern California
same. especially towards the end when he slowly repeats "hollow hills...." over again and again and then out of nowhere he screams the words in a higher pitch, it gives me the chills everytime

@@johnnyswatts I see, the Froud book? Fascinating. I need a copy of that, I never owned it but recall perusing it in the 70s-80s at some bookstores. One of these lyrics sounds lifted from the Machen story "The White People," "venture not there upon yuletide," is a paraphrase of a line or two in the story. I just listened to the reading of the tale again recently, and it definitely reminds me of it. Both are warnings to avoid certain enchanted places at certain times of the year.

F-rk! Peter has awesome hair. Is it just natural [his normal] or did he have to go to a salon to get it stylized that way for the shoot. He gives his all, and it ain't hollow.

Because of your Ancestors. They're in the Hollow Hills.
Bauhaus. Always relevant.
Way ahead of their time.

One of my favorite songs by him. So eerie
Bauhaus!! Pretty much some of the best!!! Love love this goth punk band!!! They don't make music like this anymore!!!

Peter Murphy est un grand chanteur, je suis toujours fascinée par cette interprétation de Hollow Hills
J’écoutais Bauhaus dans les années 1980’s et je suis toujours impressionnée par le talent,le chanteur qui est Peter Murphy.

Sublime
One of the classics! However I think that is just a white light box, no ultraviolet, no special paint - just sharp, effective simplicity.
Something in the way vibes

If you like his haircut here, Please have a look at the opening scene from "The Hunger" 1983 with David Bowie !!!!
That white line is not the day-glo paint, but sweating while performing, he probably pressed his face against a mirror, between songs. #Truth
