Awesome! I knew you would do something incredible But didn't see this coming! I like the 357Macgyver rig for centering the dowel. Fantastic entry! Thank you for joining in!
WOW magdad - they are fantastic ! What a brilliant idea for centering that dowel. I love watching your channel - always something fun to watch - thanks magdad. Take care 🙂
Love the blued ones. The center drilling is a great tip. The copper paint looks great, in painting models we have learned to pre-paint with black to make the copper, brass and aluminum look so good and can be polished.
Great idea on the Scratch Awls and a great idea on drilling out the center of the dowel Great job guys The Awls look great .. Take care and enjoy your Sunday looking forward to Wednesday video doing some ice fishing video
Great work buddy. The centring idea is a good one. I have seen it before but very handy to know. I definitely like both versions of the finished product, blued and shiny. Take care mate and good luck with the challenge entry.
Very nice, I would buy those 😁 Those came out amazing. If you do a flea market occasionally or craft shows those I bet would sell great. They would out this way in the rural area
Just…WOW! The only thing that would have made it better for George is if it said Proto on it. Outstanding, super cool idea Magdad. Very nice job! Thanks.
Hey !Bonjour Magdad vraiment du très beau travail, ces poinçons sont superbes, c'est pour cela ne jamais jeter les douilles des balles, la preuve cela peut toujours servir. ❤
Thanks Patrick! The brass cases come in handy for projects!

Thanks Magdad, that's a very creative entry into the challenge, they came out great, I can't decide which I like best out of the polished or blued steel ! Good to find some inexpensive donor pokey things, I'm sure those handles will come in handy for something too ! 😉 Will you hold some back for the next charity auction ?
Great show today Magdad👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and what a nice bunch of poky things. Just wondering have you ever made a bird house poky thing? Make it a great day 😃 and Thank You for sharing!!!
Magdad, I like the ones with the bluing. Nice job, Chuck. I would prefer that the shaft be shortened when you changed from the larger diameter handle to the bullet casing. I think when being used, it will be like using a metal pen refill stuck into the end of a bullet pencil. Bob
Good idea for the dead centering that bore. Certainly do not want an eccentric pokey thing. Nice work. The blued steel is interesting but the polished untreated steel just looks right. Nice choice of the bullet paint.
Those came out amazing!! I like those better than Jimmy Diresta's !! You could take a second case and plug it with an awl sized hole to make a sheath for it. That way you wouldn't find it "accidentally" in your tool box. It looks really awesome!!
I can’t believe how close that paint made the wood look like copper! What a production run! Awesome- 😃👍
Thanks ScoutCrafter! I gave the wood a couple of coats of shellac to seal it.
Very creative with a very attractive result. I think the dowel centering idea is clever. Another good tip from Magdad.
Thanks Pat! Drilling that hole accurately was the most challenging part of the project.
The awls look terrific. Well done. I love your solution to drilling the dowel on centre. Very clever.
Dave.
Thanks Dave! Getting that hole centered was the most challenging part of the project.
Holy cow, I would have never known it was a wood tip and not real copper! Great idea, they look fantastic ❤
Thanks! I gave the wood a couple coats of shellac sanding in between to seal it and then three coats of the copper metallic enamel.
Very classy, very brassy and just plain cool! Great job Magdad!
Thanks David!
The pokey things turned out very nice. I think I like the blued better. Have a great week.
Thanks WM3!
Awesome! I knew you would do something incredible But didn't see this coming! I like the 357Macgyver rig for centering the dowel. Fantastic entry! Thank you for joining in!
Thanks for the great challenge George! Drilling that hole in the center of the dowel was tricky!
That shot 6:43 of Chuck as Doc Ock is worth the price of admission!
Mrs Magdad liked that photo too. Instead of Edward Scissor Hands, he's Chucky Pokey Toes!
That turned out great and looks so nice. Thanks so much for sharing this with us all and have a great weekend.
It was a fun project! Thanks for watching!
Pretty clever, Magdad! Always thinking outside of the box and keeping us guessing. Well done! 😀👍
Thanks! It was a fun challenge!
WOW magdad - they are fantastic ! What a brilliant idea for centering that dowel. I love watching your channel - always something fun to watch - thanks magdad. Take care 🙂

The winner of the challenge so far as far as I’m concerned
Thanks! It was a fun challenge!
That turned out awesome. I do like your idea for centering the dowel. Chuck looks cool in the middle of the pokey things.
Thanks Robert! Mrs Magdad and I are calling him Chucky Pokey Toes!
Those scratch awls are very impressive. The cartridge makes a great handle and I liked the tip of centering the dowel. Hope that you win.
Thanks Larry! They were fun to make!
Great work Magdad! The brass casing, bronze painted tip and pokey thing look really good. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks John! I'm glad you like how they turned out!
Love the blued ones. The center drilling is a great tip. The copper paint looks great, in painting models we have learned to pre-paint with black to make the copper, brass and aluminum look so good and can be polished.
Thanks troy! I sealed the wood with shellac before painting.

Thanks Roger! It was actually just warm enough for me to wash the cars today!
What a great idea for a handle, I love it. Nice to see Chuck lend a hand.
Thanks! Chuck loves to shine brass!
Impressive, you’ve outdone yourself! I think Magdaughter would like it!
Thanks John! Maybe she'll watch the video...
Fantastic job, I love that dowel drilling jig. Great idea and looks to work perfect.
Thanks Stewart!
Very nice! The copper finish looks like the real thing. Excellent job!!
Thanks Mike! The Testors paint looks legit!
I like how your pokey things came out, pretty classy, 😊 nice tip on centering a drill hole in a dowel, thanks for video, enjoyed watching.
Thanks Terry! It was a fun challenge!
Looks good Bud!! I use to use brass and aluminum for the bullet!! The polished aluminum ones were in honor The Lone Ranger!!☻
Thanks RoadKing! I was gonna use aluminum - Hi-Yo Silver!
Really creative idea and great craftsmanship!!
Thanks Ron!
Excellent MagDad! I love the idea - those look great!
Thanks Bill!
Nothing like a classy brass poking thing. Creative and cool.

Awesome work Magdad. They look great and definitely qualify for the challenge. Take care and stay warm.
Thanks Dale!
Great entry with those, they will have a multitude of pokey and pointy uses around shop and home. Look good too👌🏻
Thanks! I use a pokey thing on almost every project.
Looks like you made few! They look great and a cool idea. Thanks
Thanks Tony! It was fun "going into production"!
Great work buddy. The centring idea is a good one. I have seen it before but very handy to know.

Thanks ShedMan! Getting the hole drilled in the center of the dowel was tricky!
What a great job. That looks so cool.
Thanks!
Crafty Classy brassy Idea! The bluing really looks good.
Thanks Vic!

Thanks Joe! It was a fun challenge!
Cool project 👍 awesome tool 👏
Thanks! It was a fun challenge!
Chuck is the only shooter around who polishes each bullet carefully before loading it into the gun!
Chuck likes his brass shiny!
@357magdad I like my brass ££££s Sterling!!!
Very nice I think I’ll try that too. I use several of them scattered around different places
Give it a "shot" Michael!
Definitely trashy to classy! Your awe collection must really be growing!
Thanks Steve!
Very cool! Looks awesome!
Thanks!

Will you hold some back for the next charity auction ?
They will definitely be included in my next charity auction.
These Pokey Things are EPIC. Potential Food Pantry items? 😉
Thanks! They will be part of my charity auction.
Looks very nice thank you for the video
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Great show today Magdad👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and what a nice bunch of poky things. Just wondering have you ever made a bird house poky thing?
Make it a great day 😃 and Thank You for sharing!!!
Thanks Jack! I have not made a birdhouse pokey thing.
Magdad,
I like the ones with the bluing. Nice job, Chuck.

Bob
Thanks for watching Bob! The fun part about making your own tools is that you can make them to your own specifications.
Good idea for the dead centering that bore. Certainly do not want an eccentric pokey thing. Nice work. The blued steel is interesting but the polished untreated steel just looks right. Nice choice of the bullet paint.
Thanks! Getting the hole in the center was tricky!
You may have to start making those for sale the way Hand Tool Resto makes the wrenches! 😊😊
Thanks, but ten was enough for me.
Those came out amazing!! I like those better than Jimmy Diresta's !! You could take a second case and plug it with an awl sized hole to make a sheath for it. That way you wouldn't find it "accidentally" in your tool box. It looks really awesome!!
Thanks Patrick!
Great job Magdad. Did you shoot the brass, or pick it off the range?
Thanks Richard! I got a couple bags of spent brass from guys at work.
MAGDAD, those are so great! Will there be an op to buy one?
Thanks! They will be part of my annual charity auction in November.
They’d make nice handles for needle files.
They would!
Excellent project. I may copycat it if that's ok. I can also see a scratch awl made similar but shorter, with a heat-treated hardened point. Thanks.
Sure, give it a "shot" Tony!
Nice as always 👍🇺🇸🤪
Thanks Thomas!
Very cool!
Thanks Steve!
30-06, pokey thing, Chuck with his flitz, WOW
Pretty classy, right?
@@357magdad Yes. those pokey things are beautiful, plus, I can't wait until you use the old (new)handles one some future project ;-)
Very nice
Thanks Larry!
Well done. In another time you could have made pencils.
Thanks! I couldn't come up with a good way to make the bullet cap.
