The hunting horns had so much more distinct sounds and varieties back then... I wonder why they tamed the sounds in Rise... maybe because it’s a lot more combo heavy and it might get annoying after a while.
It's really disappointing what they did to the HH. They totally removed the massive and heavy feeling it had and made it into a weightless musical stick.
Thank you for making all these hunting horn videos, love comparing how the sounds changed over the years. It's such a drastic change in Rise and Iceborne when looking back here. Could you do Generations Ultimate and 4U as well?
I´m glad you like it! Work on the MH4U video is almost done. It should be ready in a few days. I am also planning to do a video with all the hunting horns in MHGU but it will take a while because of the incredible number of horns that appear in the game.
I will never forgive Capcom for gutting the Zinogre hunting horn the way they did in World, and proceeding to stick with it into Rise. An actual guitar riff versus all the extra background noise was way cooler to me.
4:36... Well... Considering that Barroth's armor is based upon templar knights I didn't surely expected it's Hunting Horn was a Sho. I'm going to farm it NOW
As much as I loved 3u, it had arguably the worst selection of horns in the series. Shame since a lot of them sound so good. Sincerely, a dude with 3500+ hh uses in 3u
@@eldergod4817i know im late but iceborne 1st Iceborne because being able to craft your horn with any noteset, with any element (the safi weapons) meant you could create any horn you wanted. Wanted a good poison horn with the orange red notes? Done. Wanted the orange blue noteset but on a water element horn? Done. Truly the best game for horns.
Im trying to play more HH in 3U but its just so hard to not use the bagpipe for now when its just the most powerful one in terms of its songs. One of the biggest problems with the HH in general for me.
Yes, it's a shame that so few hunting horns come into question, especially in 3U. I used the Barroth and Zinogre horns almost exclusively there. The Nargacuga Horn would have been great if it hadn't exchanged its songs in the last step... No matter which horn you use, happy hunting!

I wonder about that too. Every basic attack plays the exact same sound now, which I find much more annoying than having multiple melodies...

The Qurupeco Honker sounds like it's really trying to play Careless Whisper but there's too many feathers in the way to play the notes right

Nobody can tell me the Lagiacrus horn doesnt just sound like both Jurrasic park with the first two sounds and then just Jaws
