Tarja was the founding member of Nightwish and gave the vocal specs for the band and genre too. Later came the substitutes. Marco has his awesome style and they combine so well together. By the way they both have done plenty of solo material and concerts. Tarja for instance very different style songs up to opera spectacles.

They talked and you could say they decided to let bygones be bygones. I think it was last year when Marko and Tarja were playing on a same festival, and decided Marko would join Tarja and her band for The Phantom of the Opera. And later they went on tour together with Tarja's band. A couple of Nightwish songs too on the setlist. DEAD TO THE WORLD, (I like this one, the Summer Breeze 2002 version is great, good chemistry between those two, then and now, but only fan videos of the new performances), and "Wish I had an Angel", "Planet Hell". Marko sent Left on Mars to Tarja, with Marko singing Tarja's part as well. And Tarja went to studio and sang her part. Fun fact, Marko and Tarja both live in Spain now. Not that it would mean much. They are not neighbours. Last fall Marko, Anneke van Giersbergen, she's Dutch, and Tuomas Wäinölä from Marko's solo band toured South America, one month 20 acoustic concerts. Anneke had her set, Marko his, and a a third one together. They all played acoustic guitar, and sang, Tuomas backing vocals. They had fun performing an Ozzy Osbourne cover, "Perry Mason". And Marko's own Nightwish song "The Islander" is a must. Fan videos on YT, with decent quality. And of course Marko's old band Tarot made a comeback after 9 years, (Their drummer died in 2015.)
Marko's mask has got so much bite. Those who study vocalist characteristics (I'm looking at you, Elizabeth) should get a 3D image of his solid sinus spaces and overlap it with his soft tissues via MRI and see how the hell he does it. (... of course, we might irradiate Marko, but, hey... science, amiright?) Great stuff Twon. You're making a painful, slow day go faster.

Tarja has a reasonably successful solo career in metal, and she does classical too to some capacity. If I remember it correctly, it was originally Marco who suggested firing Tarja from Nightwish. Or rather said it aloud, everyone had likely thought about it.
If you want to hear Marko at his best, you should check out Nightwish High Hopes (Pink Floyd tribute), and more of his old band Tarot. Tides and Pyre of Gods, live from Undead Indeed, would be a great choice.

This song reminds me of Meatloaf's stuff back in the 80's. 🤘🤘 Please give THE best Hard Rock band on Earth, Band-Maid, a look. Like Lovebites, they are a female, Japanese 5 piece with supreme musicianship skills. They played their 10th anniversary concert at Yokohama Arena last year and HATE? ( th-cam.com/video/yfORoQIqB3E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w_y2a5NuWWeh4-wT ) was the 27th song of their 33 song, 3.5 hours set. It is one of the greatest live Rock performances I've seen in decades, certainly this century - and I got to see the likes of Zeppelin, Zappa, Santana and many others strut their stuff back in the 20th.
Marco as always is a beast. What a voice, what a bass tone? Nice song. Glad to see them being in good terms again. Unfortunately out of Tuomas creative circle, but both doing good right now. Also glad to see Tarja matured vocally over the years, because her one trick pony vocal style, was a setback for NW back then.

If you want to see some solo stuff from Tarja, try "I Walk Alone". That's her most well known song from the solo career, and pretty good song, too.
