    Hi Dave! It's no problem at all. Thanks for providing the model number for your refrigerator. I'm going to have a look at the issue and will get back to you here once I've got a solution. Thanks for your patience. Cheers.

    That was an excellent presentation. Looked at 2 other instructional videos until I found yours showing how to replace each blade and in which order. Thanks!

    Hi Dave,
    All icemakers I have experience with have two mounting tabs that are part of the mould assembly. Normally, these have slotted openings that allow you to loosen the mounting screws and lift the icemaker up and away. Some models will have a third mounting screw beneath the body of the icemaker [used for levelling purposes], and this screw will need to be taken out before the icemaker can be removed. (Continued)

    Hi Dave!
    Thanks for your questions and the great detail. I'm going to take some time to look into these issues, but I wanted to acknowledge that I've received your comments. In the meantime, can you double-check your model number? They can be difficult to locate sometimes, so we have a guide on our website; from the home page, just click "Need help finding your model number?". Thanks a lot!

    You are super. The video is clear, precise and you have a wonderful demeanor about you. Thanks so much. I have a GE Profile model # PSC25MSASS. The ice maker just started dripping water that forms in columns of ice down the freezer. Do I need to replace the entire ice-maker?.

    Thanks for this video! My GE stopped making ice and I have been wondering how hard it would be to replace the ice maker. I recently had to replace the mother board since all the door functions stopped working. A few months later the ice maker stopped. The green power light on the ice maker blinks when on. Could this also be a mother board issue? I don't want to buy a whole new ice maker just to find out there was nothing wrong with the old one. Thanks so much for your reply.

    Hi there, sorry to hear about this problem with your ice maker. Can you provide your model number, so I'm better able to help you troubleshoot? Do you notice melted ice or frozen water droplets anywhere else in your freezer? Thanks!

    the instructions I received with my new WR30X10093 ice make says you must remove the old stripper plate and use on the new ice maker. You cannot use the new stripper. I noticed that you didn't do that in the video. is it necessary? it doesn't seem like it is. thank you for any info you give.

      That may be an update since we made this video, as there were no instructions to that effect at that time. I would follow the manufacturer’s instructions if you have any doubts.

    Great Videos...got a GE Eterna...the water cup is frozen solid to the top so the ice unit does not make ice...do I need to unplug the refrigerator before I un-install the ice maker unit to thaw out the water cup?

    • @partselect
      @partselect  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gregory Miyata Yes. I would recommend thawing the water cup before the repair.

    I have an issue with the icemaker on my GE fridge. The water seems to just leak through when the new cycle starts. I did have to change a spring on the stopper earlier though and not sure if that's related. What do you recommend?

    should water start flowing immediately. Do you have any videos on the water valve troubleshooting. I have the exact same problem. The valve is a dual valve I guess. Water comes in and then splits to the water dispenser and then the icemaker. The water comes out of dispenser so far but not for the icemaker.

    our icemaker hasn't worked for years. It seems like the water would overflow and then freeze over. Any suggestions?

      I'm changing the ice maker for that reason. Easy fix but let's see last. GE ice may suck. A lot of complaints.

    Hello!! Thank you for the video! I replaced the ice maker kit in the freezer but I was wondering if the water should have started as soon as the fridge was plugged back in? It was still dry inside. The arm was down as well. Does the freezer have to be a certain temp before it starts again? Thank you!

      The ice maker needs to be at a low enough temperature to satisfy the thermostat before it will initiate a cycle and fill. This should happen within a few hours.

    the model number is GSH25JSTASS. well for the past few months i've switched off the the icemaker but i did notice some frozen droplets at the outside bottom of the ice bin. i also have another recent problem with this refrigerator, two months ago chiller side got warm so i opened the inside panel in the freezer and the coils was covered ice. i allowed it to thaw which temporarily fixed the problem. i did this again last week. do i need to replace the thermostat or heater or main board? thanks.

    My ice maker just stopped working. I see that the tube in the back that feeds the water in is frozen solid. Does this mean the unit needs to be replaced or just thawed out?

    My water dispenser nozzle is frozen. I can't find any instructions for repairing it. Its the Whirlpool In-door Ice dispensing side by side.

    (Continued from previous comment)
    The parts diagram for this model shows a rear mounted icemaker, but it would seem your unit has left wall mounting. This style usually has the standard two mounting screws in slotted tabs attached to the mould. If you need further assistance, can you provide a couple of photos? I'll send you a message with my e-mail address for this purpose.

    We bought ours used and the ice maker never filled with water. Does this sound like a fix for my problem?

    • @partselect
      @partselect  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could very well be, Warren. Although there are various other elements of the ice maker kit you might want to check before going with the full replacement, if you're looking to save dollars. Head over to our repair page where we've addressed the common symptoms of faulty ice makers, which includes completely replacing the part, but also checking things like the water inlet valve, water fill tubes, and ice and water filler. www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Not-Making-Ice/ Have a browse and see if you can isolate the problem with your particular model. Let us know if we can be of any more assistance. Thanks for getting in touch.

    I have replaced my icemaker and the first issue I had was the water would overfill the unit and lets say double of what it should be. On this I do not know how to fix this setting. My model is the same as above with the On off switch.
    I have seen another video where it says that after installation to switch on the unit and Move the Paddle back and fourth THREE times to initialize the maker, well this did not fix the problem.
    Next the cover when removed shows a screw with a + and - direction that I guess represents the pressure on the rotating unit for the ice cubes, or how much water is needed to fill the ice bin. The problem is there are no instruction that cover these issues.
    I hope someone can help me out with this issue. At this time the ice maker makes ice, but takes too long to turn the cubes out. Now after I messed with the adjustment screw it does nothing yet.

    • @partselect
      @partselect  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rational Reality American The + and - indicates the direction to turn that screw for adjusting the water fill time. Normally about 7-9 seconds is the range in which you will get a proper fill.
