Definitely looks great as far as being a third party transformer!! I’ve learned how to love and respect these third party toy companies by giving fans what they want!! Many do a way better job than Tommy Takara, and Hasbro plus they are not as expensive as their master pieces!
I don't have any of these fans hobby figures, but they do look really good, in our well-reviewed. For me, in my mp collection I'm really most interested in just going up to season 3, and maybe a few key characters in season 4, but the monster Bots really, basically I never collected them in the 80s I was already out of Transformers by then, so that's why these characters are not worth me spending more than a hundred bucks each. On the other hand, we are sorely lacking a modern MP scaled set of Terrorcons. It just occurred to me that fans hobby might be the perfect company 2 give us an outstanding huge set of heavyweight, toon accurate, Terrorcons, to form an Abominus that could match or exceed Constructor proportions!
Just opened this guy up about an hour ago and...wow. I don't buy many third party figures and this is my first from Fans Hobby and it's not too shabby. I would like a little more articulation in the dragon arms and the dragon legs are a little squat and I'd like another hinge joint at the base of the dragon heads but since this is a retool of a figure in which those were intentional design choices, I'm not too upset. Overall I feel that it's fairly good value for money. Great use of the diecast. Nice size. Plastic quality feels good. There's a few places in the transformation that seem a little questionable when moving pieces past other pieces though but it's not too bad. I just wish other second and third party figures were this sizable for the money. I keep looking at DX Bike Robo but I don't like the idea of spending $120 on him when he's half the size of this guy at the same price. I just don't get how the unofficial Salmoore is a third of the price of the officially licensed DX Bike Robo either.
Responding to those 6 year old comments is probably pointless, but this is, perhaps, Transmetal 3 Megatron, whose toy was never released, which had 2 dragon heads?
I kinda like what they were going for here, but I feel like they would have been so much better off going for the Car Robots/RiD Megatron instead of a halfway attempt at TM2 Megatron. Still, I appreciate their effort to appeal to the BW fans by giving them this remold, even if the effort feels a bit shortsighted.
Thanks for reviewing this, I was on the fence about him, but now I think I'll wait for the PE version. I don't know if I like this as TM2 Megatron, but I think it'd make a pretty decent BWII Galvatron. Remember him? One toy, no other versions, never repainted... so underrepresented! His drill tank mode is rubbish as well, so I wouldn't miss it. I wonder who'll be the first company to release a new version of him.
Is RiD making some kind of covert comeback? First the re-release of Prime and Magnus, and now this. I know it's extremely too little to go off of but come on. I really want the RiD 2000 toy line back.
Meh. A clever reworking, but it misses the mark in a few areas IMHO. The dragon-heads are too big, and the Megatron face too narrow. Still, its nice that this is out there for those who want it. More choices are almost always good, IMHO!
I am not really a fan of this mod, especially the dragon mode. It looks too squashed up, with the heads too large, and the feet too stumpy. The heads look too simplistic, too. I think I will wait for the Perefect Effect version. However, as there is currently no Gigatron on the market, I might be interested in yjis mold as that, instead, but they will need a LOT of nice paint apps, chromed and clear parts to sell it to me.
The dragon mode does look a little "squashed up". It reminds me a bit of Beast Machines Savage who was made from the dragon mode of Transmetal 2 Megatron. So it's kind of like a third homage.
FIRST! And this figure is AWESOME!!!!!! I took a sip of coffee right before your Megatron immitation. I had to laugh loudly. Totally unexpected. Coffee everywhere LOL
Does this toy have any other modes like in the anime 2001 show?

I'm glad that there's a master peice

They deff took this hole transformation from titans return double cross or whatever his name is obv much better though
& a repaint of Feilong....

Speaking of RID an updated MP scaled RID/Cars Robots Megatron/Gigatron NEEDS to happen.
Great review brother!!! I picked him up and couldn't be happier. He looks amazing especially the Megs head sculpt Yessssssss....
Thanks Ben!
The head sculpt is the biggest selling point for me.
Beware of the Dragon's Wrath! Yesssssssss

Just wanted to let you know that there's an extra O in the word Transformers in the title of the video.
It is beautiful, I love it (I got the A version).
Megatron had 1 dragon head + a tail claw.
Hopefully we will see this figure retooled/repainted into Car Robots Gigatron.
"Enter the Dragon, yeeessss..."
hmm nice Benscollectables prime at 3:33

Ben a few people in tfw forums have been wondering about that IT megatron, is it actual paint or glossy plastic?
Ben where did you get your background set pieces from?
I believe they came with the ToyWorld figures(I think)
An impressive homage, yesss...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
PrimalTheEmperor (primal9000) YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P
Kinda wish he had one head in dragon mode
I feel like this could've been better. Like that botcon exclusive Megatron. That was beautiful.
Wod love Fans Hobby to giv us a Skylynx, surprised no1 has tackled an MP Style Skylynx yet
Yesssss.

This megatron has two dragon heads *FACEPALM*
Dang, that is such an awesome repaint job and they succeeded at me wanting that guy even though I am poor lol
PE version KILLS this one.
and was it intentional that your face ended up as the head of optimus prime during the robot group comparisions? 😆

Yeah, short of Takara throwing their hat into the ring, Mega Dragon looks like the best option, outside of a heavily customed original TM2 Megatron.

i love transmetal 2 megatron but this is bad
I can't wait for Perfect Effects Megatron.
So glad i ran into you i been watching emgo for years but hes just toooo damn much i always gotta mute him. Your a blessing! 🕶🤘
Im not impressed at all.
I actually hate this Megatron.... He's absolutely hideous.
