I think about the flat stanleys often, im glad it was mentioned here. I'm sad their band isnt around anymore, but I recognize that they all are in better places, probably. Im just happy they took their time to create music that has influenced me so much.
Holland, 1945 is one of my favorite songs and that specific video of Curdle Motif playing it was my introduction to them. Glad to see them mentioned here, it truly is amazing.
Knew Curdle Motif growing up, great kids. Also, best forgotten band of the 2010s has to be Kickball for me. Their album “Everything Is A Miracle Nothing Is A Miracle Everything Is” is a still a hidden gem, and one of my favorite records of all time. Great for fans of math rock / emo, but also totally unique with a sound all their own
I found an interview where brian from the flat stanleys claimed to have about 35 songs written while working on the album that never came, really sad we never got to hear them
especially sad to think about how we have 10 songs that all are fcking master pieces of their own, that would have quadrupled the amount of songs xd i just hope the guys are doing alright, i still enjoy every single second of music they ever released like its the first time listening
I never see anyone talk about The Flat Stankeys I show them to everyone and talk about them in my live streams and vids too!!! Not on this depth more so "theyre my favorite" but thank you
The lead singer. Brian. He was going through some mental stuff. They had another album completed after the last one, but never released it. I guess he got help and didn't need to release it. 🤷
long live tony perkis is my fav song of all time, dancing to dad rock is my fav ep of all time and the flat stanleys are my fav band of all time (alongside mobo), im so glad i found them back then and wish more people would stumble across their tracks (especially kiss me with your headlights, zeppelin v and long live tony perkis) :p
