Ok Ree you were who I chosen out of all the cooks Well I watched your video I don't have Bisquick But I figured since you used Bisquick I could use self rising flour So I got 4 cups of self rising and sweet milk Did it just like you did Been cooking dumplings for 30 years maybe more When they got done I added sweet milk to them Them are the best ones that I have ever made Thank you
I was just in Sylacauga during the Talladega race and stayed at the Holiday Inn near good ole boys bbq! I wish I watched this video earlier so I could have stopped in to eat at this restaurant. Last year I stayed in Gadsden and ate at Pruitts, it was delicious. I love mom and pop places. See you all in April
I made this for supper last night, for my husband and myself...Omgosh!! So good!! I shared them with my mom & dad and they loved them also! Very easy to make. Thank you so much for sharing!❤
Exactly the way I make mine except for the butter. My mom would get the dough a little dryer and roll it out....then cut dumplins with a knife. Of course back then you had to cooked the chicken for the broth and bone it.........but now its so easy to get breasts cut up, and use the carton broth. Geeze it makes it so much easier!!! I like mine with a shake or two of Mrs Dash......YUM! Looking foward to watching more of your videos. I grew up in SC....so I get all the southern touches.
Mama Ree you food is so very delicious. I try to stop by on my way to Birmingham to a doctor appointment. You food is so delicious, I have never gotten anything not good there. You have the best fried chicken tenders, and chicken livers. I wish I knew what kind of breading you use for these. This chicken and dumplings is wonderful, too. Thanks for showing this. Take care, Hugs, and God Bless!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, we sure do appreciate your business. We have the chicken tenders on the list and I will add the chicken livers as well. Thank you and God bless ❤
I just found your channel today, I also owned a restaurant in Sturgis, Michigan, I sold it 6 months before covid! I'm now retired and enjoy watching cooking shows! Where are you located? I just subscribed, going to try this recipe!!!!
Our address is 37801 US Hwy 280 Sylacauga, AL 35150 Congratulations on your retirement. We will be adding more videos as we can. If you have something you would like to see, let us know and we will add it to the list. ❤️
My mom also would put frozen mixed vegetables in it. The Pillsbury that you mix with milk is so much better than the one's in the tube. I'm going to try this very soon
Ree I forgot to tell you Before I did dumplings I missed up corn starch and broth Added it Thickened broth first Not like gravy But consistently of broth of chicken and dumplings Debra
I discovered this method of making dumplings a few decades ago but I make mine a bit larger. To have them fluffy in the middle, and not soggy, the secret is to have the dough "kinda wet," but not thin like a batter. Then I splash a little buttermilk down the side of the bowl and coat each dollop of dough with the buttermilk. I cook them for 15 minutes at a very low boil or simmer with a lid on the pot. Each dumplin' comes out about as big as a large egg, and when you break one open, it is light and fluffy in the middle. By the way, bread and butter pickles go good with them!
Looks very tasty
Thank you for sharing
GOD bless you and your family
Nothing is better than dumplings! Thanks for sharing ❤
I'm gonna try these.

She adds it at the 8 minutes & 50 seconds mark in the video. She already had it ready to put in.

That is wonderful, so glad they are enjoying it. Thank you for sharing how it turned out. ❤️
Not crazy about drop dumplings. I prefer rolled flat dumplings. Ive used biscuit mix but roll them out.

My granny would just drop her rolled and seasoned , I think, dough pieces in hers, this is altogether different…looks ok
If baked ten minutes at 350 they would be buscuits
