Wow .. Just WOW ! So much talent .. so many hours .. so many different interpretations .. What a great idea to put all these in a video !! Thanks !! : )
Your talent leaves me speechless, really!! I'm sitting here as usual trying to select colors to start on a new picture. And as usual I inevitably end up on You Tube searching through videos for some much needed direction & inspiration. And I have to admit after watching this I'm feeling more than a little intimidated with my own lack of talent compared to yours!!😄Nah, it really shows me the amazing things you can create & hopefully in time I will also be able to. Heck, if I can create something even 1/2 as beautiful as these pictures I will be more than satisfied! Thank you for taking the time to share your awesome & amazing talent as a colorist with the rest of us. If you are not employed as a professional illustrator already, you missed your true calling!!,💖💛🧡💜❤💙💚
Oh Evie - I wish they were all mine! But these colorings are from a large collection of people who are members of the FB group 'Secret Garden Gallery'. There is a list of their names in the description - all very talented indeed! So I can't claim any credit apart from bringing these wonderful pictures together for the video. But I'm glad that you enjoyed it anyway and hopefully you found some inspiration!
@@SilviaMarinColwell It was so nice of you to reply, thank you!! I guess I should reword my original text to compliment all the colorists whose creations contributed to this video. I hope with time I can be even half as good as all of you already are. I started my coloring journey as an adult kinda late. Believe it or not, I was unaware the coloring trend even existed. 😄I was at Walmart for something & by accident went down the wrong aisle & seen adult coloring books. I was (& still am!😄) totally amazed at what colorists can do with just using colored pencils. Right from the start though I have been having trouble choosing color combinations. It's really too bad that there isnt a channel dedicated to assist those of us that are newbies to adult coloring!! It really has been overwhelming trying to buy supplies at places like Amazon where there is thousands of options to choose from. It's very difficult to know what you need specifically when your starting a new hobby. I've seen pencil sets priced from under $10 all the way up to hundreds of dollars. So back to You Tube I went & watched hundreds of videos of product reviews & coloring technique tutorials from so many different channels. Unfortunately that chaos only added to my feeling overwhelmed state!! 😄That's when I thought how great it would be if there was one channel dedicated to beginners that included tips, techniques with tutorials & a place where you could display your creations over time that would represent the gradual improvement & what was learned from the videos posted to the channel. I can only speak for myself, but not being aware of so many things I know I've wasted tons of time & cash buying supplies that inevitably ended up not being used or even needed. Its really frustrating to be so excited at starting a new hobby, but totally clueless as to what you need & how to use it, etc.🤣Mote than once my husband could visually see my frustration & in return showed his support by telling me to get a grip & just buy a large box of crayola already & be done with it!!🤣 I apologize for the length of this. I really just wanted to run the idea of a beginners channel by someone who has an existing coloring channel in hopes of finding out if it's something you think could be done or if you had any suggestions or direction for a beginner like myself. Thank you in advance for taking the time to reply & read this.💖💜💛❤💙💚🧡💜💛🧡💖❤💙💚
@@eviehammond9509 Pencils, as you said, come in so many brands, types and prices that it can be a little bewildering to a beginner. I would suggest that your husband has the right idea though - not necessarily with Crayola (but I know of some people who get on fine with them) but a similarly low priced product such as Marco Raffines. These aren't great, but, in my opinion, the more expensive pencils can wait until your techniques are improving and you're really getting the hang of things. Then, if you're still in love with coloring, you might want to consider moving up a gear into the kind of mid-range brands such as Prismacolor or Polychromos - it's very much a matter of how you get on individually with them - whether you prefer soft or hard leads, or maybe you'd prefer water-soluble etc. If possible, I would by small sets of any pencil brand (apart from the cheap ones) you like the look of and see how you get on with them. Once you find a type you like, buy a bigger count of the same. A good sharper and an electric eraser are good cheap investments also. As for beginners to coloring, I'm a little biased because I used to run a FB coloring group - the aforementioned Secret Garden Gallery (link in description) - but I believe you'll get much better feedback from a dedicated coloring group with thousands of similarly minded people in. You'll see lots of other pictures and get ideas; get questions asked and answered as well as have a place to submit your own work to. There are loads of groups out there - if you like the idea, just as with the pencils, try them out and find one (or more) that you like. As for beginner video tutorials I think they're out there but you might have to search some more to find them. I did a several part tutorial a while back for lost ocean. Even if you haven't got the book it may give you a few ideas: th-cam.com/video/MV3rcVNrF14/w-d-xo.html Anyway, I hope that I may have helped you in some small way. And thank you for your kind comments!
