    Thank you so much for highlighting all the steps of the z offset and leveling. Was also helpful when you pointed out the step you had to take on this one that you did not have to take on the pro. I a trying to decide between the pro and the plus... the additional steps on the plus are making me lean towards the to pro for me.

    Your videos encouraged me to get into 3d printing. Got the anycubic kobra plus, very similar to this elegoo. Im confused about the z index manual adjustment. From youtube, i found a cura profile from a person 3dpuk i think. With this profile, i didnt need todo the manual zindex adjustment because profile has the right settings. This zindex thing is really confusing. Would be great to see a video on just that and how to use cura profiles. My prints seem really good to me, but i also dont know exactly how to judge. I did print a profile cube from thingiverse that turned out well too. Thanks for this 3d printining series of videos. They are amazing machines.

    Hi thank you for making this step by step tutorial it’s really helpful!
    But I have a question that when it’s auto leveling from point 1-49, is the nozzle not supposed to touch the bed? My other printers seem to do that when leveling, but now this Neptune 3 Plus is not. Should I reset it or redo the manual leveling and let it auto level again? Thank you!

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the nozzle will not touch. It has a sensor that is actually doing the work

    is there a proper way to turn this off or do you just hit the power button on the back?

    Hi when I press Confirm to print the file, the screen asks me to Load the filament, and it won’t respond to me pressing Confirm(although it does beep), it only respond to Cancel. My filament is running fine though, so what’s wrong?

    • @joannahighhigh
      @joannahighhigh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I just fixed that by turning off Filament Detector in the settings lol thanks anyway

      @PawPawsWorkShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      It appears that the filament detector is not working. Check the plugs first

    Nice! If I remember, there are 3 different types of the neptune 3. This is the middle one? Isn't there a larger one coming out? I hope you get one of those!

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, this is the middle size. There is a Neptune 3 MAX

    At the moment Neptune 3 Pro seems to be a great first printer, but not the one some enthusiast would be able to tinker with without building a whole new machine. It's not a bad thing per se, but it would be good to know. Besides the all-metal hotend there is just one other upgrade I found so far: an additional thermal insulation layer for the build plate.

      The Neptune 3 Plus is only $350. The Pro is on sale for $230. That not bad and with a little effort it will pay for itself.

    I am using a big printer similar to this (CR-10) and after a while you want print stronger thermoplast filament and then you need an enclosure to keep up the temperature. Thats why i bought a machine which already has an eclosure so i dont have to build one (snapmaker Artisan).
    I am using this old printer now for more then 5 years and its not enough to have a heated bed, you really need an enclosure and you have to take care that it will never catch fire if something goes wrong.
    So what i added is an octoprint camera for very small money and then you can always have a remote look to your print via telegram and you also want a fire detector for high temperature with a switch to make sure it will never burn down your workshop.
    For the bed leveling after short time i diy installed this bed leveling system th-cam.com/video/89sUBu5Zkqs/w-d-xo.html because using a paper all the time to make sure the bed is leveld is a pain in the butt. Also this automated bedleveling will correct a big print over the whole bed automatically and drastically increase bed adhesion specially when you try to print with better filament then PLA. Still you need that increased temperature.

      @PawPawsWorkShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an awesome idea for the bed leveling. I like the sensor. The camera is a good idea. Just be careful not to be far away. If a fire were to start it will spread very very quickly. You could still have significant damage to your shop. Do you have a fire extinguisher in your shop? I’ve is near the door and is very easy to get to in case of a problem.

    • @usurpinesusanti3149
      @usurpinesusanti3149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PawPawsWorkShop the trick is always to make sure that no fire will start under no circumstances. Take care of the powersupply, cable managment ect and build an enclosure out of metal and glass. So automatically measuring all temperatures is mandatory. This can be done with sensors. You are not able to stay near all night and day with your fire extinguisher, impossible. And all this is expensive, thats why i stopped pimping my old 3d printer with all that and instead ordered the quite expensive Artisan. I also have a mmu Prusa for Multimaterial and smaller parts. But having a dual printerhead with 2 nozzels for a 2nd type of filament (usually watersolvable support structurs or flexible) is what i mostly need. If i want heavy structures i just make templates out of 8mm plywood or acryl with the lasercutter (10 Watt only) and then use my WIG Plasma Cutter to cut 20 - 30 mm Steel or use my huge wood router to cut all type of strong wood but manually with the template parts i cut out with my artisan. But the last 5 years showed me that a 3 in 1 machine like the artisan would just fit most of my needs and at the end it would cost me almost the same if i would build a nice enclosure, added a Laser and cnc with this old printer is almost impossible because its way to weak. So i had to buy a dedicated cnc machine and this would be even more money for a machine which would not be used most of the time, because i dont need it really.
      And you will be surprised how long a print will take with a huge working space 400 x 400 x 400 needs printing times for days, not hours. And then something stupid happens and you have to restart from scratch and have to wait for another 4 days to finish printing your project. You will see that most of the time you dont need the big printer and instead you will buy yourself a 2nd smaller but faster 3d printer. Thats why i bought the original prusa with mmu upgrade because its perfect, fast and is less noisy. this big 3d printers working all night and day you will hear through all rooms everywhere in the house and that can be quiet annyoing when its permanently running.
