i did not expect how different and amazing normal people was, i personally actually liked the ending because it was more realistic and maybe sally rooney wanted us to interpret the ending. i gave it a 4, i was stressed on how they were always on and off even though we knew how much they were IN love with each other. the book made my heart hurt and i loved connell and thought marianne was such a strong and relatable female character !!!
the lack of communication/them never being together stressed me out but i believe that was the point! love both characters so so so much!!!

I loved normal people so much, honestly probably my favorite book. I recommend it for everyone, even though it’s a very required taste I feel like. I related to it very much and felt seen through the book. I hope you end up liking it♥️

loved the tv series they did for normal people, which i watched first before reading the book and in hindsight i feel like it was the best decision for me. when i finally got into reading, i didn't like it as much as i thought i would even though i knew what would happen. it was just very frustrating to read because it always felt that they took 1 step closer to growth then quickly took two steps back haha. but would love to re-read it again sometime soon.
agree so hard with the 1 step closer then 2 steps back. was so frustrating but in the show their connection you can feel sm better than the book!

i read normal people a few months ago and i really didn’t like it :( i was super bummed because i loved the length of it and the writing style was so unique. i think i didn’t enjoy the book because of the lack of development throughout their relationship!

I liked normal people but it’s one of those books I would never read again. Sally Rooney’s writing style wasn’t my kinda thing and I just couldn’t connect with the story and it was just filled with the miscommunication trope which I really really hated but so many good quotes

I read normal people and felt like when i was reading it i enjoyed it but had 0 desire to pick it up. It was a bit dull but watching the show made my opinion do a 180 the show is stunning and i think of the book as more of a screenplay for the show bevause it's so similar
