I prefer the OTHER argument, myself:
- Civilization 0 exists in the real Universe. They advance to the point where they can create a realistic simulation. Their simulated Universe advances to the point of creating THEIR OWN simulation. And so on, and so forth, until you end up with an infinite number of simulated Universes stemming from that original one. Turtles all the way down. So at that point, what are the chances YOU are in that original?

If we're in a simulation then I have feedback for the devs. Did they even do code reviews!? Unit testing would've caught a ton of the crap we're dealing with every day.

In a way, the idea of man living in a simulation corresponds to the religious thoughts of both creation and pre-destination. These teachings combined assume that a powerful being that possesses the maximum limits of everything (space, time, energy, intelligence, etc) : 1. Formed everything (creation) and 2: Pre-determined all the inter-actions of all things that exist and that live (Pre-destination) in such a way that nothing can resist this pre-determination, nor can anything formed alter its fate. If this is so then indeed mankind is living in a simulation. However, if even one person's will can alter their fate then the whole thing cannot be said to be a simulation because a new reality is created each time the free person fulfills their own generated will.

The simulation theory has often crossed my mind and yes, it was when I saw the matrix for the first time when I was a kid. Neil deGrasse Tyson gave the best explanation why we are not in a simulation or why he believes we are not. He says that once a civilization reaches the point of, the capabilities to simulate a species that simulation would fairly quickly also reach a point to create a new simulation and so forth and so on since we are not yet capable of creating a simulation, we are either the first simulation or the first species to create one eventually. he put it far more elegantly than I did, but you have resist check out his description on it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that's the case, would simulation theory potentially explain why matter (at a subatomic level) behaves like both a particle and a waveform until observed?
Type in "the double slit experiment" and "simulation" in the youtube search bar and you will find countless videos! I love them but you have to remember they're a little biased! I would also really want this to be true tho! 🙃

It still didn't mention how the particle slit experiment shows foviated.Rendering basically our reality rendering when we look at it, Or the fact that james gates found error correcting code in his calculations for particles, Or the fact that when we look at our universe it's in the structure of a neural network, Or the fact that quantum particles behave very similarly to binary code and their interactions behave very similar to assembly code, Or how that fifty-fifty chance goes up.As soon as we can create a simulation that's indistinguishable from our reality and we're already pretty close to that with unreal engine and AI virtual humans, Otherwise it was a good basic overview

@@GhostofFHBradley If you believe that a creator deity, created this universe, then that means they live outside this universe to be able to do that. Which means our universe is not the base universe the creator deity’s universe (or if you want to claim the deity being the alternative universe themselves) and we are a simulation they have created.
Often simulation theory is described as computer simulations, but that idea is only an example to explain how it can work. Other universes and life that create the simulations are going to be governed by other physics and computers are a very human and this universe concept. Other universes simulating ours don’t have to look and act like ours. There is a game called “Life” that is a Zero player 2D game that on a technical level would be an example of simulation of a simple universe.

@@GhostofFHBradley It would be a simulation of the creator deity’s design. It doesn’t need to be modeled after anything. Like the life game 8 referenced, it isn’t based on our universe but it has a set of self governing rules and the simulation follows the rules until the end. The life game has very simple rules and other computer models have more complex rules. They can be modeled after something real, but they are not required to be.

We don't say that a building is a simulation of its blueprint, or that a cup simulates an idea in the mind of the cup-designer (unless we're Plato). So why say that a universe created by a deity is a simulation of that deity's design, when that design isn't modelled after anything? It seems to me that, if a simulation isn't a simulation of something else, then it isn't a simulation.
There was a channeled spirit teacher in the 70's called Seth. Seth taught that we form our own reality and that we can only perceive what we, ourselves, have created and formed --- with the assistance of a higher self. There is coordinated and cooperative communication at higher levels that makes this possible, so that there isn't chaos, but if three people and a cat are in a room. Four rooms are created.

Here is my thing you were trying to prove the simulation theory through the laws of our reality, if our reality is simulated then that may also mean how the laws work here compare to the reality we are supposely mimicking, might we done differently, think about it like our vs the sims, but a very upgraded version of sim, the rules in their game are simulation ours, but they ware being run with a completely different set of instructions. so that is another reason we may never really know if we are being simulated.
na. virtual worlds have clear boundaries. The sims aren't a universe contained in a game. It's just a game. Our reality has no boundaries
