I recall being blown away by this music as a child when it was the score for the movie 'Mise Eire' commemorating the 50th Anniversary of 1916. The French Horn deeply resonating throughout added pathos, reminiscent of the hunting horn of ancient times. Sean O'Riada, Visionary Composer and Inspirer!

I remember hearing this as a small child, it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and also made me cry a very moving piece of music. Love it ❤💚

This is a fitting piece of music for the people who made it all happen .
I started my tertiary studies at UCC in October 1970, when O'Riada was the powerful, living inspiration for young, up and coming musicians like Micheal O'Suilleabhan (RIP). Sadly,, he died one year later, all too early aged 40. But, his powerful legacy lived on and inspired others.

Really love this version of Patriot Paddrig Peirse fantastic Poem put to Music & other versions show the beauty of the land of my birth & it's said English queen victoria wanted Ireland as a playground for her and hers , the cheek of these people & did they not realize Irish will free all THEIR Country all of it if it takes a million years***
