If you have TP-Link VIGI cameras, then you have full control and recording from them, including Audio whether to VIGI camera is connected via wireless or wired.

sure, i'm using ssd for my nvr, low power consumption and silent. the hole and screw is designed for hdd only though, u may diy using paper or clay to fill in the gap to make it level.

As others have mentioned, yes you can use SSDs if you prefer. Whatever works best for you.

Using an SSD in an NVR is generally not advisable because SSDs have limited write cycles, and the constant recording of video involves heavy writing, which can significantly shorten their lifespan. HDDs are better suited for the sequential writing workloads typical in NVRs, providing greater durability and reliability. SSDs may also suffer performance degradation over time due to sustained heavy writes, especially if their wear levelling and overprovisioning aren’t optimised for such tasks. While SSDs offer speed advantages, this is rarely critical for video recording and playback, making surveillance-grade HDDs the better option.

Is the Internal HDD mandatory or external will be fine? I’m asking since my unit from Amazon arrived yesterday and it makes beep sound even though the UI seems to work fine. Nothing in doco which says HDD is mandatory

Good question. This is a foot note at the bottom of each page relating to an NVR with TP-Link Vigi -
§A hard disk drive (not included) must be installed for operation.
So I am guessing it needs an internal drive of some size to work and then it can use external as additional. Others may be able to put me right on this, but that would be my thought.
