- I decided to take out my Garrett ACE 400i to see how it compared to my AT Max and also to see if it could find silver to keep my amazing finds streak going. I was metal detecting with friends on my current abandoned community permission. My friends were detecting an Equinox 800 metal detector and a Teknetics T2 but which one of us found the silver?

it is a great machine, and it finds just as good as the more expensive machines, as I always say if its there your going to find it if your feet are lucky enough to walk over it :-)

well done Dawn nice silver :) you know to date my very most valuable find was made with my Garrett ACE 250 :) Haven't used it in a long time but i'm sure if I popped a few new batteries in it My Little Mule that's what I call her would give my high priced minelab's a run for there money :) take care and Happy Hunting

Found a spill last week, with two of the silvers you found. I struggled to identify as the coins are 90% caked black. I thought, like the guy in the video, it was a shilling(never found a sixpence before). The other two coins in the spill were pennies, but were right-offs(costal dig)
Only just- :) You are just a silver magnet now Dawn. Another smashing video and well done. Debbie says get well soon to Diggy. (I'm amazed as Debbie doesn't like any pets but for some reason she fell in love with Diggy)
Diggy seems to have the ability to make everybody love him wherever he goes, hes just a little cheeky teddy face :-)

Theres been now rain here for weeks, the grounds like concrete, we go out very early to try and stay out of the afternoon heat. Thanks and I hope you get out soon :-)

Hes fine now, I think he had a cough from allergy, but it only lasted a couple of days, the hot weathers not good for dogs

he ok now just had an allergy cough for a couple of days but the heat is too much for him, we only been going out for walks about 8pm when its cooler, but hes fine and happy, thanks for your concern :-) he sends his love x

Like you I up graded to the AT Max but i still like my ACE 400. By the way, I recently took my Max to the beach and it really worked well i wet and dry sand.

Must be lovely to have a silver streak, haha. Unfortunately my 1 and only silver coin doesn't quite quantify as a streak but I'm still out there most days. Send me some spare luck please Dawn :)
Btw, with this soil being so hard, I've being down on the sandy beaches. Over a fiver in loose change yesterday, so that was a bag of chips on the way home, fantastic :)
finds for chips is a result! I used to go months inbetween silvers, you have to have the right land, I dont want it to end. Sending you all the luck of the silver spirit

You've also saved me eighty quid when I purchased a lovely lovely AT Max earlier today, coming tomorrow and it'll be on the hills in Wales about 10 mins later. Upgrade from a Fisher F22 which I've had for over 6 months but starting to find it a little limiting. Take it easy :) Thanks again

Well one costs double the other so that's obvious. If you're new to detecting I would say 400i to learn with

Horse fly bites Itch because of Air getting into the bite. If you put a dab of super glue over the hole Strait away It will seal the wound and not Itch ;) All the best wiv yer hunting :)

So you like finding old objects? What’s the oldest object you’ve found? You do know they make metal detectors that detect meteorites that are billions of years old and can be worth over $1000 per gram!... so imagine price of 1-2 pound rock! You hunt so much you may want to update your gear and knowledge about them. Just FYI....
Oldest coins are Roman dated 340 AD. I would love to find a meteorite but im motivated by history no money so in keeping my garret :-)
Digger Dawn I don’t see you jumping up and down when you find old rusty iron. However I do see you jumping around when you find silver coins and gold. So I wouldn’t say it’s not completely about the money. How much history is in 4.6 billion years?
Please dont assume to tell me how i feel about history! I keep every single coin and artifact i find. I wouldn't be motivated to find asteroids
Digger Dawn only trying to point out you’re missing great finds as you already walk miles anyway. Was only pointing out you may want to learn how to recognize meteorites and not astroids FYI unless you’re flying around in space in a spacecraft. I try to show people knowledge but you cant make the horse drink. So be it...

Hi Dawn, Horse flies seem to be attracted to black or dark clothing. Try wearing white or cream.
