Obsessed with your videos - just stumbled on your channel!! I appreciate you showing all the moments of your sewing - even the little tiny hiccups like when you forget to change the setting and start sewing. As a sewer myself it's so nice to see how other sewers go about their projects too - I never do the waistband like that and now I want to try it! keep it up, lovely clothes x
So glad to see someone making things from linens. I’ve been doing this for a long time. Couple tips from my experience: I always try to utilize the hemmed part of the sheet for the parts of my garment that need to be hemmed, like pant/skirt/dress bottoms or blouse openings. You were using a duvet cover which as a bonus already has buttons and buttonholes - cut the shirt/top with the front pieces overlaying that closure - you won’t need to make buttonholes or sew on any buttons! I made a really cute top from a couple of Kate Spade polka dot pillowcases. I got so many compliments on it. Don’t stop at using just sheets, I love using cotton tablecloths. Round ones make great bias skirts, rectangular ones give you a lot of fabric. Sometimes they have really cute border prints or fringe. Again I utilize the hemmed edges into my garment and the finish is amazing. I’ve also used fabric shower curtains for jackets and coats. Cut the front opening over the grommet edge and you can use cotton rope or ribbon to close the jacket. I made a really cute Channel style jacket from a white cotton waffle shower curtain. Love your vlog! Katie in Canada.
I saw a girl on TikTok cut her sewing patterns out on muslin, and then she literally just folded it up and like put it in a Ziploc bag with the name on it. I did that with a projector pattern that I make a lot, just to prevent having to dig my projector out every time I wanted to make it, and it has been a game changer!
I filmed this video already a few months ago and now I have found the perfect way to store my sewing patters!! I have a moveable coat hanger and then I clip the sewing patterns on a boot hanger and hang them up! It's so good!
Hi Solana. 😊 Thank you for this awesome video! I love all the patterns but the last top was my favorite, so beautiful! I have just found you and i cant wait to watch all your other videos now! Thank you so much! Kindest regards from NZ. Xx
Love this sort of vlog/ sewing diary vidéo! For bias binding there is a method to do bias from a square of fabric, it uses a lot less fabric than cutting a single strip of fabric on bias
August 21, 2024 Maryland, USA: When using sheets there are some pretty ones out there that I have used. Look at quilted covers for making jackets. Love the sewing makes. Especially the tops with the ties instead of buttons.
This video is so interesting! You got to do so many things from just a bed sheet! Would love to see more content like this where you think of ways to make clothes different while talking to the camera, more improvised stuff
Hi Susan. 😊 This made me abit sad, please wear whatever you like. There is no age limit to wear beautiful clothes. I'm 60 and I wear clothes like this all the time and I never get anything other than positive comments and compliments. Wear what makes YOU happy, not what makes others happy. ❤ kindest regards 😊 xxxx
It seems that when you were cutting out a larger version of your sleeping mask, I didn't see you add any seam allowance which may be why it is still too small....but all the clothes you have made with your sheet look fabulous. I really love that stripped sheet. It is such a nice piece of fabric. Well done you.
I think I am going to like your sewing videos! You have a good way of speaking about your project but a mic would be so great, I hope you will be able to add one. Also, I would prefer to hear your narration or just the machine and working noises rather than the 7 repeated musical notes. Please don't be offended by my criticism, I think you should get many more subscribers this way. Thank you for sharing your work.
Did you make the off-shoulder blouse you’re wearing in this video? If so, what pattern? I love your idea about using sheets to make clothes. have a set now I’d love to use!! Thank you.
Question? When you cut the garments in all different directions according to the pattern on the fabric, is this affecting the fit due to the stretch going in different directions? Or does this work because there is no stretch in these sheets? Anyone have experience with this?

I have been making clothes from bedsheets for YEARS!!!!! LOL!! Too funny!
I really enjoyed this video/tutorial very much. Thank you from Nova Scotia, Canada.

So happy to hear you like this video!! And about the bias binding, I have to look into that, I’ve never heard about it so thank you for the tip! 😍

I’m so glad you like this video!! I had so much fun filming this so I will definitely make more videos like this!!!
Love the video!!!! The outfits are stunning!!
thank youuu I am also so in love with how they turned out!!
I use Frixion pens because they disappear when heated. They come in lots of colours too
Great inspiration. Thank you ❤
Hey, you mean facing not lining. The 6cm facing you cut to stabilise the front centre was a facing.
Some lovely makes 😊
Loved all of them I am 72 wish I was young enough to wear them well done

One of the girlies I watch has like a big photo album and stores her patterns in there with a picture of what the pattern is!!
Great video! Just for future reference, in the UK we call the white fluffy stuff wadding. Keep up the great work, please ❤❤
In canada, it's batting 😁
Where is the white shirt from that you’re wearing while sewing??? Sooooo cute

Diagonal zu schneiden ist bei Webware aber auch ein Thema, da der Stoff unterschieflich aushängt

thank you for your feedback!! I appreciate it
I feel like these have to be the Bergpalm sheets! I got those in the grey stripe recently
Love the pants 😍🪡🪡
same!! They are so comfy

Yes I did, it’s the Roxy Shirt Sewing pattern :)
@@Sewingwithsolana Thank you so much!,

for the pieces I am making it doesn't really matter because non of these require stretchy material and the sheets are also not stretchy :)
i really like your videos but if you use a mic it would be great for sound quality.
100% agree! I have bought a microphone recently and need to figure out how to make it work
