Nalanda was a budhist teaching centre , not vedic at all.

I don't understand how we can get back the knowledge&information contained in the burnt books...even human books were burnt alive...so much was lost forever...mere revival of buildings wl not get it back...no one even has the catelogue of the burnt books

Yes it's a symbolic effort. The books are lost forever. The books were of birch leaves covered with copper plates and leaves will burn although due to copper plates it burned slowly over months. There was no copy bcz there was no technique available back thrn. That's the same reason it's said that burning of library of Alexandria pushed back civilisation by 100-200 yrs bcz books can't be brought back.

Why are we Indians going back to the past by spending so much energy, resources, etc. to glorify it. Why can't we live in the present & offer a better future? Who will be able to afford this Nalanda university? Instead, we can construct in every town a school which provides education based on values. We can also build a small factory in every town which provides jobs to the locals. Culture can be deemed rich when the people have values & the basics. Do the majority of Indians have food, water, clothing, shelter basic education, hygiene, infrastructure & other absolute necessities?

Stop spreading lies. Nalanda was founded by the Hindu Gupta Kings. All 3 traditions, The Hindu, Buddhist and Jain have rightful claims to Nalanda. Stop spreading lies in the name of Buddhism. Buddhism is a very noble intellectual tradition.

First of all she doesn't have any manners. She's addressing him as if he is some random guy. He is a very respected senior archaeologist. Secondly She can't even read the slide in front of her.... she's not even asking the questions on her own just reading it from some prompts/ slides ....
