I have these shoes too. The inbuilt chip that analysis your metrics such as foot strike angle, pace, cadence, etc... is great and can be linked to a set of earphones to receive real time coaching on certain aspects of your form. I feel like those new to intermediate runners would really benefit from this and like all UA connected shoes is one of the unique selling points. The step in comfort level of the Flow Velocity Wind is amazing. The heel collar is well padded. Perhaps a little too plush for my liking but it's well welcomed if you're planning on doing longer runs. The midsole is responsive. It felt easy to pick up the pace with a quick turnover. I did 10km in them right of the box. Looking at my stats afterwards I was surprised with how fast I'd went. I wouldn't want to use these for slow recovery days. At this stage I think they're most suited to 5km up to half marathon distance. I don't think they have enough cushioning for much longer distances on road for me. Great review. Subscribed.
Thanks for the insight and for sharing your views too, glad to know we are in a similar mindset with this shoe and I look forward to testing out the connectivity from this shoe, it’s certainly an interesting part of the experience that you don’t get from other brands. I also have a NURVV which collects similar data so I’m hoping to do a separate video at some point that is all about that data. Thanks again for sharing your experience and appreciate the sub too! 🙏🙌
I'm looking forward to trying this. I'm a big fan of the original Hovr Sonic - so far my fastest times were with that UA shoe - and this sounds even better.
UA seem to be making a heavy investment into the running scene (more influencers, new kit releases etc.). Intruiged whether the kit lives up to the marketing/hype. Top video as always mate, very informative 👌
Thanks Nick. Yes absolutely. They made a big commitment a couple years ago to get back into running in a bigger way and it’s all starting to come together I think. I’m excited to see what they have in the pipeline for future releases as this is probably the first shoe that’s had a buzz around it so far. Apparel wise they have been solid for years but good to see footwear catching up!
The Machina 2 is good alternative, though heavy, suited for much longer runs than what this Velociti is suited to. Also, there isn’t enough data as to how long the midsole / outsole lasts on the Velociti Wind.
@@paullooper1090 I think Under Armour should have lowered the price to $120, the price alone made me consider the Machina 2 (after discount) and Hoka Mach 4. I don’t know what Under Armour was thinking; overconfidence at its best
Great video! I've just got a pair in black (which look awesome in the flesh?!) I do walking rather than running, do you think these are suited for walking with more of a heel strike?
Thanks Derek! Glad you like it. What kind of distance are you walking? I think if you are doing anything massive like big hikes then there will certainly be better more supportive hiking shoes but for more casual daily walks and if you aren’t going massively off-road onto gnarly terrain these will be comfortable enough! I pretty much live in running trainers all the time and these are totally fine for day to day activities if that’s what you need!
@@danprettejohn Hi Dan, I usually do at least one marathon charity walk a year and the training leading up to that so only a few walks a year of over 15 miles but mostly about 10 or 12. I've also got a pair of Glycerin GTS 19 to try out just now, which of those two do you think might be the better option?
Nice, they do look tasty don’t they! If you are rolling your ankle inwards and normally wear more of a support shoe then it’s a good idea to stick to something that can give you that support and keep you in the right spot. However when you need to push the pace you might find that your running style can slightly correct itself, I tend to hit my forefoot more when I’m going faster so can get away with lots of different shoes normally. Always happy to help mate if your thinking of lining up a new pair! 😉
Hi, I'm using adidas ultra boost laceless, 2018 version, wy weight is 79/80 Kg , i'm 1,70 m, i run usually 7/8 km at 6 /6 30 minutes p km, It' difficult for me go faster with ultra boost , despite the weight of 300 gr , I run with the hell , do you think velocity wind can suit me ?
In my experience of this shoe it will be lighter than the ultraboost and for me ultraboost is more of a dependable every day mileage shoe but if you want to pick up the pace and have something firmer and snappier underfoot this shoe would do that. Also for that 7-8km distance this shoe could be ideal. I think if you want to go faster then also varying your training to add some specific speed workouts with this shoe would be really beneficial as the shoes alone will only account for a certain % of change.
Dear Sir, I am very much interested in buying of these following shoes..., Now I would like to request you to help me... which is good one for daily running 5 to 10 kilometers? Actually I liked these 2 sports shoes among many sports shoes like puma, addidas, Extra extra...... 1 )nike air zoom pegasus 37 2) Under Armour Flow Velociti Wind I am kindly requesting you to do little bit help what is the differences , characteristics or properties of these 2 shoes.. are these sports shoes available in india? Heartily Thanking you, Basavaraj, From India.
Interesting feedback, it’s more of a vibrant red/orange than pink when looking at it in person. It may be my white balance that is throwing you off, but these also come in a variety of colours, even a plain black style if that’s a preference.

"I'll film some bits afterwards to make it seem pretty" haha love it! :)
There’s nothing pretty about me stomping through at an all out pace 😂 but I do my best!
Brilliant review. I will try them out mate !

Yeah, I have some doubts on the midsole being the outsole...

Is this true to size?
How was the fit, is it Wide Foot Friendly? Or do I have to go half-size Up?
If your foot is wider then you’d probably need to get a half size up
Orange Laces - And I always replace my laces with Caterpery or Lock-Laces
Good vid
The red/orange laces definitely look better
You think? I don’t mind them but kept mine white. Good job they have both in the both right? 👌
Flow or phantom 2?
flow if ur a long runner
why did you buy the women's colorway for?
This one comes in white for men’s and women’s 🤛
@@danprettejohn the one you have looks white and pink. tell these companies that these type of colorways esp the unisex ones arent working.
