I had one of these way back when.Had to replace drive side main bearing.Easy to work on and a lot of fun to ride. One day the generator and primary chain crashed and had to push it 2 miles home.Great bike though.Enjoy.
I can't understand all that you said but i thought I heard you say something about pitch. Like from a tree? Kind of looks like inadequate piston to wall clearance on an over bore. Either that or some contaminant in the oil. Or deposit left in the engine somewhere.
It was gasket shellac all over the inside of the engine. It glued it together. Additionally the timing pinion was split at the key. All clearances came in nominal

Not brass, bronze. Hope you get a nice bike out of it, I had a M18 50 years ago, and realy enjoyed it.

Keep your camera steady, please! I'm still dizzy after watching your video.

How did you get the gear of the crankshaft that drives the two camshafts? I know it’s conic but it’s stuck on mine engine...
you can use a puller or just apply some head with a quick rap of the hammer and it'll pop right off.
Pump is a shit, right side main bearing is a shit, generator under magneto is a shit. Porcaria 🇧🇷
