Major Basher Dean, was truly an insightful visionary and genius in his field of expertise. As virtually most of his helmet designs were later adapted by various European and Asian nations Military and Police forces.
All of these body armors would've had a good impact in the war since the armors could stop not only shrapnel, but also bullet. Each of these armors can stop shrapnel and a few pistol rounds. Some of these armors can stop up to rifle rounds in a long range but that's good since most body armors are no match to the rifle rounds. Of all of them I just like the brewster body armor most because if they were in the trenches and shot by a camouflaged sniper, the giant helmet will stop the round.
Samuel Range do you know where this information can be found? Pretty much the only mention I've been able to find is here and a few offhand comments in other videos. I can't find any details, or even confirmation of the existence of this stuff?
Well yes and no. From what iv read around, some could easily stop shrapnel and even small arms fire from 9mm. Other sets could even stop rifle fire but from a long range.
Looks liek it was inspired by medieval armors. Especially that breastplate with tassets and the limb defences
As long as it is useful. Can block bullet can save asses
The designed, one Bashford Dean, was the Curator of Arms and Armor at the the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Huh. These would have saved a lot of lives against shrapnel and flak. They should have given these to assault units or weapons crews.
Only for very few soldiers, it would be super expensive
Lives are cheaper than steel and rubber.
@@informitas0117 And more valuable.
Wonder if the American light body armor faired well against bullets

McCbobbish The metropolitan museum in N.Y have examples as their armour curator developed the designs
McBobbish sorry if this is late but armored protection was meant to protect against exploding sharpnel near by not bullets
salvador hernandez but, it could still stop pistol rounds, anyway.
Body armor for bbq guns or paint ball guns
did any of these actually worked?
Well yes and no. From what iv read around, some could easily stop shrapnel and even small arms fire from 9mm. Other sets could even stop rifle fire but from a long range.
I wonder if these will be in Battlefield 1?
