Your new strawberry planters are beautiful! I’m sorry about your tulips🌷. The allotment is looking tidy! I’ve got baby arugula and kale on the go, my beets are shooting up, and I’ve planted all my tomatoes plants and sweet potatoes slips. I have sowed green beans and cucamelons and my zucchini is already sprouting robustly in my greenhouse. Thanks for the tour! 🌱🌱🌱🌸🌸🌸
So sad about your tulips!! Thank you for the tour as its nice to see green things growing. The last of the snow is melting here so hopefully can start planting end of May.
I had a load of tulips 🌷 planted 3 years ago and the Squirrels took most of them, but for the last couple of years I’ve planted them with grape Hyacinths and the Squirrels have left them alone but they did enjoy my Lily bulbs 🤣 so this year I’ve potted them up like Dahlias and I have just planted them out 😀 I love your new strawberry pots and Lavender is a lovely plant to keep in a pot ‘French Lavender’ My gooseberry bush looks the same and I’ve just looked to find little berries growing already 🥰
Thank you for your Allotment Tour ,looking great and love your cosy shed 😊I late with planting my potatoes bit Cucumber have raced away with buds forming already ..have a great week ahead xxxshaz 👋🐿🐀🐇🌿🌱
I am over in New Hampshire, in the United States. I have a mixture of very deep mud here, and where it isn't muddy everything is still covered in snow. It won't be until later May early June that I can plant out warm weather crops. I haven't begun seeding anything yet. Thank you for the tour.
delightful allotment. I'm enjoying watching it comes to life. we're doing the opposite here in autumn but I enjoy the clean up and the bulb planting at this time of year!
Happy 1st year on making TH-cam videos!! Your plot looks wonderful, I like that fact you have little surprises everywhere to please the eye. What a sad thing to happen with all those tulip bulbs, it would have looked spectacular, but as we know gardening is full of surprises some good some bad. Our weather in Oregon USA has been very wet and cold, in fact starting tomorrow we are due for 10 days of rain, so planting has been a little later this year, we are warming up some. :-) Lost a crop of onions to frost, planted more and hoping they survive. My perennial spring flowers are coming into blossom, which sure brightens the heart to see them. Happy gardening. :-)
I feel your pain for losing all your tulips, here in Ontario we have squirrels who love tulip bulbs. We have to bury our bulbs 7 to 8 inches deep so the squirrels can’t get at them. Please give this a try 👍❤️😊
I love the blue pots, what a good find. I started a new tomato for me this year called tangerine. I’m super excited for this one. I’m trying out grow bags got the first time this year. Keeping my fingers crossed I like them. Have a great day from Ingrid across the pond.
I've taken so many chances with early starts this year. I just have a good feeling that we aren't going to get hammered with a frost. I have new potatoes flying along in buckets l, Sarpo Mira's in 40l tubs all flying. All my tulips are.up, daffies of course. My Banana shallots I started under cover back in Feb so they are out in bunches of 3 or 4 and growing away. Garlic went in start of Jan and is stomping on as usual. I wish there were a way to share pictures on TH-cam comments, I think it would be much more engaging for all parties involved. Just bought a LOAD more bulbs yesterday mainly Dhalias and Gladiola as I love them when they.put on their summer show. Love your channel, it's the best on TH-cam these days XXX Andy from Lincolnshire xxx
@@homegrowngarden I lost my Dad 3 years ago and instead of having something sad to remind me of him I decided to create a 'Celebration Garden!!!' Although i had never grown flowers I have grown veg for years. I bought packs and packs of bulbs, corns and crowns and planted the lot. The Dahlias are what I fell in love with and mid summer the striking Gladiolus spikes xxx Since then the 1 celebration garden has evolved into 3 which are devoted to colour and beauty of nature x
Love your videos. You are a true inspiration. I got my potatoes in at the weekend along with couple of rows of peas, a row of carrots, parsnips and spring onions. Cabbage seeds are germinating on the kitchen window sill along with tomatoes. Hoping you have a great year and happy gardening. Take care. :-)
greetings from the west coast of Ireland, silicon sealer for fixing your broken pots, great video and yes I love my shed, full of gardening books an armchair and some whiskey, happy days..
Allotment is looking great, be careful with frosts as I am also in Nottingham and it’s forecast for some harsh evenings this week, although you’re a bit more protected as closer to the city than myself. Keep up the great work, love following along on insta 👍🏻👌🏼
I'm a total beginner so loving your channel, I've sown 2 types of Kale as I keep Tortoises and wanting to start to grow their food. Also trying to grow some sage from seed which might be a challenge 😆
love your vids, always brings me rays of sunshine with your radiant smile and attitude. can't wait to see how your year goes and compare with my first attempt at allotmenting (is that a word>??)
When i cut all my autumn bliss canes, i put them in a tin vase and they are all like your cane....not sure if i'll get any fruit though.. not quite sure how to feed them as an experiment....they had half a can of beer last week, seem happy...
Happy Anniversary!! The bird song is glorious! Must be deafening just before sunrise. You should try a split screen video and play March 18 beside March 19...might be interesting. Best of luck with the show garden. Sounds exciting to be part of something like that.
Hi plot looking good! You might want to think about getting a trap for them or they will probably be back again! More than likely it will be squirrels! None native anyway unless they are are reds! Good luck in the new growing season
I'm trying a polar berry this year too 😁 If you don't prune your autumn raspberry it will produce a small crop in spring, but you're right, it does confuse it and you won't get a good crop in the autumn on that cane. Everything is looking beautiful as always🌺
Autumn fruiting raspberries...Hmmm I have "Everbearing". Actually the new canes that grow up fruit in the fall and again in the spring. That makes the raspberry patch have two flushes per year. immediately after the second flush, I look near the base of the canes and prune out all the dark canes. (The new canes will still be green) The recommended seed sowing for my location starts this week. But I do have plants going cause I'm impatient. LOL
Nice video thank you your plants are much further forward to ours here in Colchester Essex, my next door neighbors lost a lot of their plant in their greenhouse last week due to frost at night. We tend to get all our pots from free cycle we like free cycle it helps things from going to land fill.
Ahh what a shame about your neighbour’s plants. I’ve been there myself! The warm weather leads us into a false sense of security. We have a few cold nights on the forecast for this week! I love repurposing other people’s stuff! Most of my allotment is second hand. One man’s junk is another’s treasure as they say 😁
I prune half my autumn raspberries and leave half the patch up then alternate it the following year. It means you get earlier fruiting, I usually get fruit in july/August from the un-pruned section. It's a cheats way of tricking them to fruit earlier :)
I had the same problem with my tulips a few years back I planted over a hundred and every single one got eaten. Now what I do is put them in containers and keep them in the garage and bring them out come spring. This works fine, not ideal but I can still have tulips. You can keep them in your poly tunnel or shed and then bring them out later. Sorry I know the feeling. :(
@@homegrowngarden I did that too in one area in my yard I planted alliums with hoping the smell would disguise the Tulip bulbs. I'll let you know if the tulips survived the chicken wire. I didn't put that many in the ground , maybe 25 in that one spot.I have squirrels, rabbits and at least one vole that I saw. The only spring bulbs that survived the previous year were daffodils, crocus and grape hyacinth. But my containers in the garage are looking good. Take care. I'll let you know if mine survived with the chicken wire.
What I would do with your trough is make a make shift hoop house and duct tape the plastic "kidding" somewhat about the duct tape maybe a bungee cord as a fastener at the bottom of the plastic or netting, but I think if you make a makeshift hoop house and chicken wire that would work.
I feel your pain on the bulb eating squirrels. My nemesis is a herd of about 10 deer that eat everything in my garden, rows of hydrangeas, lilies, daisies and even my rhubarb (leaves and all!) I've also caught them in my fenced veggie garden with deer netting that they just jump through (not over). Can we trade garden pests? 😅
I get leaf curling on my plum, i sprayed neem oil on it last year and it seemed to work fine. It was to big so I had to get it pruned this year so if it does come back I can spray it easily.
Well hello! Nice to meet you :) I'm new to your channel and adore your ❤ for gardening as do I :) I'm from the U.S in zone 6! So, as October nears our way, it's time to think about winter hardy perrinals :) In this video, I seen you come across a daisy plant 4:18, which I could not make out the name you called it? This plant grew voluntary out of a pot and I don't know the history or care of it. Please advise? And behind your daisy plant is a burgundy spiked plant I'd like to know the name of? I think both plants in a container with one another would look fantastic!
If you forget to cut down your Autumn raspberries, they will do that and make side shoots which can flower and give you early summer raspberries. Similarly if you cut summer raspberries down in the winter they will shoot from the base and give you autumn raspberries! Some varieties just fruit better if you let them fruit in autumn or summer ... but all are capable of doing both.

What is an allotment? Does the Government allot a land for gardening?
Yes but u have to pay for it unless u have some sort of disability
It's our horrible weather, it's confusing the plants
Hello I'm Pakistan nice beautiful place

What a load of compost!
you will get a double crop from you autumn fruiting raspberries, that happens when you dint prune to the ground. your autumn harvest will be lesser

get a syringe of 2 part epoxy for your pot
