    I'm a long time Evernote user. So just knowing that the software also has this awesome features to offer really helps!

    Search is my friend. I have a gazillion notes (long time user) and I make sure my tags and title are clear enough that a Search is more likely to find that note I want.
    I do good amount of travel, and I email all reservations to Evernote (they are of course in my calendar and TripIt). But in Evernote I can keep the detailed notes before, during and after the trip. I save my Google Maps trip information. Any receipts I need to remember are Document Captured to Evernote. And my current trip is always downloaded to my phone, so if we need to find a reservation.
    What is also nice are the trips down memory lane. If I'm nostalgic, I just go to Notebook a trip sits in, and there are all my details and notes.

    With the limit of 2 devices, I always have at least one Evernote tab open on Chrome on the other several computers I use. They mentioned eliminating this, or counting the web use as one device, but I don't think they've enforced (or figured out hwo to perhaps). Wish the paid version weren't such a big increase over the free version, as I'd like to support, but even best selling author, Tim Ferriss (Four Hour Work Week) recommends the free version. Evernote is fantastic - my favorite app, and I recommend it to many students and patients I work with.

    Thanks, Scott, The one I found most useful is the todo:(true or false) tip. I had never used that before and when I di a search on my 7300 notes I find quite a few checklists that I've now converted to Templates for future use. I used to search for the old note, duplicate it and then uncheck all of the old checked boxes. Bad,,,

      Thanks for sharing, Ed. Yes, this search tip can be a great way to find those hidden or lost checklists.

    The merged notes are in the trash... So sind can 'recycle' them Out of the trash.

      If you have emptied Trash then duplicate the merged note and delete the bits you don’t want to get back to a single note whilst still retaining the. Merged note.

    Hey Scott, sorry to be “that” guy, but what is your take on the whole Evernote shutting down thing. I recently committed to Evernote for all my day to day stuff, and I am a tad nervous. And on another note, is backlinking possible in Evernote. Or some approximation thereof? Fantastic video as always thanks!

    Thanks for thr tips really really helpful.. Do they apply on evernote web version too ore only the app?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many of these tips will also apply to the web version. But overall, you will have more options if you use the desktop app.

    Thanks. Seems stupid that the MERGE doesn't create a NEW note of the mergers (vs. deleting original so it can't be undone). Hope they get enough feedback to improve/add that variation.

      Me too..I"m googling the internet trying to find out why. When I click CTRL on my keyboard, the notes do not stay selected.

      Hold down CNTL while left clicking each Note.

    Scott, once I have created a Table of Contents, how to I add to it?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All you would need to do is paste the note link into the existing table of contents. I hope that helps!

    • @stephenhedge2489
      @stephenhedge2489 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you've added new Notes to a Notebook, recreate a NEW Table of Contents & delete the original one.

    Ref creating a link to a note - which option should I choose - Web Link or App (local) Link? I use EN on FIVE devices; laptop, 2 mobiles (Samsung & Blackberry Key2) & 2 tablets (iPad & Android).
    I need the Link to work on ALL devices.

    If you share a note with an internal link, can the "read only" person see the referred note?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, if the shared person does not have access to the linked note, they will not be able to see it.

    • @stephenhedge2489
      @stephenhedge2489 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Simpletivity So... you cannot share a note unless "permission" is given for access or the other person uses EN ? How do you gives access/permission to share?

    do all these tips work in the android app?

  • @haiyangsu9195
    @haiyangsu9195 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wonderful presentation. But Evernote still "stupidly" misses key features we want. 1) for searching notes, why not adding dropdown "search by title", search to do", rather than using syntax? 2) no Pin To Top feature; 3) being more greedy by reducing free account to 2 devices limit and 60 MB per month. People have wish list for Evernote for years, but not seeing any "useful" updates. They are NOT listening. Still love it, but only wish it becomes better!

    • @stephenhedge2489
      @stephenhedge2489 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When in search, type "intitle: word you are searching for" - without quotes. This will find key words in all note titles.
      If you have a To Do Note, (or several To Do's,) Tag them "To Do" & search by this Tag.

    Downside of evernote is that i have to pay to use 3 or more devices

    • @skirwan78

      or just switch which ones are "active" - which you can do infinitely. I just use the web browser on my PC and then my phone and tablet as my "2 devices"

    Your content is amazing. I wish you would turn down the "voiceover" voice just a touch. You have a great voice but I feel like I'm hearing your voice more than I'm hearing what you're saying -- if that makes sense. Not trying to be negative. Thanks for some great videos.

    Different strokes for different folks, but the... weird... pauses... between words is really contrived. Does talking... more... slowly... help compreHENsion?
