@@hydorah I have a Japanese Strat from 86, while my Les Paul is a more recent clone. Back in the day I would have steered well clear of cheap guitars and the various knock-offs but the quality is now so close to the big two manufacturers that it's hard to justify the additional expense.
@@TheNemorosa Yeah cheap guitars can now be made to play properly! back in my day they were a trial by torture... Like gatekeepers... If you play a beginner guitar and progressed you've earned it! Payed your dues. I've had a few Japanese strats. P and J basses they were all very good - I bet yours kicks ass. There's still a chasm between imports and the USA stuff, but you can get knockoffs that are 80% of the way there maybe and that last 20% Modern cheap guitars have a place but right now I'm making sure I avoid buying anything made in China because of current world events! My Squier was OK because that was 'handcrafted in Indonesia' by a blind person by the looks of it but that another story 😀
