I’m convinced the Mets pitch was that Juan Soto can be a great with the Yankees and just be another name on the list in Yankee history. But on the other hand (along with the money & the owners relationship with players and families) with what the Mets are building roster wise he has an opportunity to be the greatest player in the history of the franchise and his name will be etched in stone as the savior for as long as the game will ever be around. I also do not believe Cashman knows how to construct a Championship capable roster. He inherited the core 4 from Michaels and Watson, and once they aged out he was unable to draft and develop players of similar capabilities, shifting the focus on building a roster filled with players all taking a similar approach at the plate, swing for the fences on every at bat, strike-out 26%-40% of their at bats, bat .200 - .230, hit home runs with varying degrees of frequency. There is only one Judge on the team, but even the guy hitting 10 home-runs, strikes out 125-150 times per season, batting .230 or lower. That is the Cashman way.

It is ridiculous all of the gloating from Met fans on getting Soto. First of all Ohtani is a better player than Soto hands down. And don't forget the California Angels had 2 superstars Ohtani and Trout and did not even make the playoffs. The obnoxiousness coming from Met fans whose team has not won the World Series for 38 years is actually funny when you think about it. Soto had very inflated statistics playing in a short right field and a wind tunnel where almost every flyball to right field ended up being a home run. Soto also benefited from having Judge in the lineup. I as a Yankee fan say good riddance to him. And I am actually glad that the Mets will be stuck with him for the next 15 years as the Mets have NO opt out, only he does. That will turn out to be a horrendous contract based on the money and years for the Mets. He will probably spend most of his remaining career as a DH. Don't forget what Keith Hernandez said about his awful play in the outfield. They will pay the guy more than 50 million dollars per year and they can't even play him in right field, that is pathetic.
It’s dejavu of Cohen year 1. Everyone’s so happy that the Coupons were gone, Lindor was the greatest FA signing ever, blah blah blah. “LolMets is dead” they kept saying. @@Robert-hr6pj i’m a Mets fan and I don’t agree. Yes I was excited when it happened, but celebrating? Absolutely not. This all means nothing if we don’t win a championship. The rest of the league just laughs at the Mets no matter who we have on our team. The only way to stop that is by winning. I mean, we could go to the World Series and play til game seven and get barely edged out and they’ll still have shit to say. You don’t shut them up unless you win. That’s when I’ll be happy. Right now yes it’s exciting that we got this player because it’s never happened before, but it’s not the same as winning. I’m excited that we have Steve Cohen. But we still have holes to fill. I’m confident that he’s gonna do his best to fill them, but not confident that we’re going to find the talent even if he could afford to buy it. So I won’t be celebrating until next November during the Mets parade.
@Dan-tt8sn I'd say celebrate because you did something you never do before Cohen which is sign a guy the Yankees desperately wanted.
Signing montas and clay Holmes doesn't move the needle as far as catching the Dodgers this year and that Soto contract (as with 95% of all free agent deals) will look horrible on the back end but Soto gives you guys a 7-8 year window if you can surround him with the right pieces.
Did he do the “ shuffle”?
How about this. Cashman said we are not matching the Mets so dont waste your time.
Soto lost his home run patty cake buddy Judge, maybe will do the La Cucaracha dance with Lindor 😅
Soto is a Gerber Baby 😂
The caller from Florida with an all time awful call lol (stay in Florida)
Racist calling Juan Soto older than he is, stubbornly and intentionally not calling Cleveland the guardians and then boiling down Sotos greatness to a single play. My dude, he hits like Ted Williams, get your brain checked.
Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans have been falsifying their ages forever. Stop the Race Hustling.
It is amazing how delusional Mets fans
truly are. Do they realize that Soto has
a lifetime .285 batting average and
never hit more than 35 home runs
until this past year. Oh, but he is going
to help them win the World Series, okay.
Tell us who the ace pitcher is on your
beloved team.
It is a wonderful thing that Steinbrenner
did not get fleeced into that contract in
terms of length and money.
The Yankees do not have a Dodgers problem, but the Mets do. The Yankees will have an easy time reaching the World Series, but the Mets need to go through the Dodgers.
Stands to reason then when the Yankees get to the World Series, then they’re gonna have the same Dodgers problem lol
Already took 2 from them without Soto last year, so...
@@Dan-tt8sn At least the Yankees are in the World Series and not the Mets.
@@xh3598 I would be pissed if my team went to a World Series and I paid to go to a game and that’s how they played. This is not one that you wanna brag about. Talk about the other 27 that you won. OK I get it but this is one you wanna forget about.
@@xh3598 yea American League sucks, congratulations. Have fun maybe getting to the World Series and never winning.
Listening to Morash’s voice after a few minutes is like chewing on tin foil
If Soto lets uncle Steve invest his millions he may retire a part owner of the Mets. 😂😂😂
Could you imagine being 26 and just got a 75 mil signing bonus on an offer that is paying you over 765 Million dollars??? Jesus the party I would have when I signed that 🤣 me and Juan are very different 🤣 I would be passed out at some bar after paying for all the drinks all night 🤣 just throwing that money around 🤣
Maybe he’s doing that tonight lol
Wow ...cloud nine for mets fan base ..definitely deserved after so many bad time..gooooo mets ...
Cohn messed up on this one trying to prove a point and stick it to the Yankees . No player on earth is worth this . Cohn got duped and will find out as Mets fans will the hard way . 765 for a poor fielder and base runner . Just unbelievable.
Is it not possibpe he became friends with Lindor over 5 years and wanted to play with the NY Puertoricans? The Mets are basic the spanish contingent if NY. The NYY are the white guys
Judge jealous
I doubt it. He’s still a Yankee. Soto is now a met 😂😂😂
@ jealous of the paper
I wanted to know. What do you plan to do with all that money? What kind of cars? Houses? Art? Etc that you like you would spend it on? Like it is so much money that most of us cannot even fathom it. It’s almost a BILLION dollars to ONE player. I mean yeah Ohtani got good money but the dude proved he is a two way player. Soto is not Ohtani. He is good. But that is INSANE MONEY😂😂😂😂😂😂 Good for him and his Family. No doubt setup for generations down the line. 😂
Judge knew he wasn’t gonna be the man anymore
Yeah you right. Thats why Judge got the MVP...because hes "Not" the man...sure😂😂😂😂
@@frankwite81 u give a dude 700 mil. He automatically the man of ur team
@@frankwite81 judge isn’t the man in the playoffs wen it counts. He’s horrible. Judge should’ve been begging Soto to come back.
Good pay day, bad deal. Every largest pay day seems to always end with biting the hand that feeds.
Matt from white plains saying I don’t care about Yankees or Mets and then spending 3 minutes disparaging Soto and saying he’s not 26, trust me, and he’s only had a few great moments but it doesn’t mean he’s a superstar. Then saying tiki I played minor leagues trust me, I know what I’m talking about. Basically talking shit about Soto (clearly cuz he’s not a yankee anymore) is like someone saying I’m not racist, I have a (insert a race here) friend comment. 🤡
Albert Pujols, another age fudger,
A 26 year old journey man on his 4th team, 😅 If they have a bad season next year the Mets will see the Soto Sour with his bad attitude reputation that made him unpopular with other player's and a journey man.
the first two teams traded him because they could not resign him. might as well trade him and get some prospects back. the third team is butthurt because he chose the fourth team over them
Ive seen enough of SHAQ, SNOOP DOG and SOTO on TV, period!!!
Evans, sometimes you're an idiot, get over the money.Of course , he's not gonna say that let's go Mets.
It think Soto meant Dyna’s Teeth.
4th team in 6 yrs? Mmmmm
What else would you expect from a26 year old to say?
All of those celebrations between Soto and judge and the rest of the teammates was a lie and and a fraud
Oh and who won mvp oh ok
Positive Tommy is such a yankee hater 😂 . Positive tommy turned into Confrontational tommy over night. He's so focused on yankee fans. The Yankees aren't the Braves or the phillies and they aren't the dodgers! Lmao. I'll bite my nails once you dominate your division properly. Little brother.
That is what losers do. Remember him yelling every day
for about 3 weeks because Cohen did not re-sign his
beloved Idol Jacob d'Grom?
It is ridiculous all of the gloating from Met
fans on getting Soto. First of all Ohtani
is a better player than Soto hands
down. And don't forget the California
Angels had 2 superstars Ohtani and
Trout and did not even make the playoffs.
The obnoxiousness coming from Met fans
whose team has not won the World Series
for 38 years is actually funny when you
think about it.
Soto had very inflated statistics playing
in a short right field and a wind tunnel where
almost every flyball to right field ended up
being a home run. Soto also benefited
from having Judge in the lineup.
I as a Yankee fan say good riddance to him.
And I am actually glad that the Mets will be
stuck with him for the next 15 years as the
Mets have NO opt out, only he does.
That will turn out to be a horrendous contract
based on the money and years for the Mets.
He will probably spend most of his remaining
career as a DH.
Don't forget what Keith Hernandez said about
his awful play in the outfield. They will pay the guy
more than 50 million dollars per year and they can't
even play him in right field, that is pathetic.
Yankees offered him 47.5 million a year. For that price you would say “Yankees are back! We got Soto!” 😆
It’s dejavu of Cohen year 1. Everyone’s so happy that the Coupons were gone, Lindor was the greatest FA signing ever, blah blah blah.
“LolMets is dead” they kept saying. It won’t die until a World series victory but that doesn’t matter for the Mets are not perpetual champions of the offseason BayBEEEEE!
Not me glad hes gone @@StromboliTastesGood
Salty are we? Mfer wrote a whole story😂
OHTANI is better player. SOTO can’t throw a baseball from the outfield
@@brucekeller5259 everyone knows Ohtani is better. Soto got more money because he was younger and more teams wanted him. Supply and demand
I think im going to puke!
We all know how the last Juan S who went to the Mets performed
Evan is sickening
It will be a waste of time signing SOTO if MINI MARKET STEARNS doesn't surround him with a solid supporting cast. That means that MINI MARKET STEARNS has to sign ALONSO and not a 34 yr old CHRISTIAN WALKER who's got at the most two or three yrs. left on his career.
The migrant has the dinero now to buy alot of tacos and jelapena 😅I did'nt know if the Mets hat will fit on Sotos big broccoli hair, with $765M need a decent haircut.
