I’ve never had a Thorens lighter but all the other lighters I have I use the gold flints I got off of Amazon. So far I haven’t had any problems. Good video
The different sizes, and hardnesses of flints, I wish they were more accessible these days. The other day I put a Ronson red in a lighter, and sware it was sparking brighter, but thought it was just in my head, maybe not lol. Great video as always my friend 👍
I’ve got a question. My mom told me that if I ever run out of zippo flints, I should find a spare bic lighter and put the bic flint in the lighter. Wouldn’t it be too hard for a zippo though?
Sir, I have an old 8 sided table lighter, marked "Sterling Weighted 666" on the bottom. I found the exact same one that's made by Tiffany's which was clearly marked Tiffany's on the bottom. The one I have isn't marked with any company name at all. Did companies back then make "knock offs" to compete with large companies? The center piece insert that's stuck into the top of the lighter which has the strike button on top of it, I can't seem to pull out (I don't know if I'm supposed to try getting it out to see what's on the inside) as it seemed to be stuck. To your knowledge if there's no brand name on the outside, could it be on the inside?
It could be marked on the inside of the base or underside of the insert. It could be the manufacturer contracted with Tiffany's to put their name on some of the manufacturer's products.✌️
@@DependableFlame yes, I pulled the insert out, finally, and found no brand. I'm betting these were sold for advertising) Tiffany's & Cartier's) and this one remained an unbranded (probably less expensive) one. Thanks.

@LEANDRO BRAZ BORGES DO PRADO I’m gonna see if it works on some of my lighters. Thanks for the help😁
@@wyattbennett4737, I think they are longer so you may have to break it to get the length you need. I don't think they are harder though.✌️

Hello! Thanks for the vid. I have a prince table lighter and it's filled with butane and fresh flint, but does not light. It sparks. Any thoughts?
I have plenty of thoughts but if it's a butane lighter I won't be any help.✌️

do old ronson/MTC/DOLINE table lighters use asbestos in the wick or wadding?
also do flat ad lighters use asbestos wicks? cheerio
I think it's likely that any wick produced before the 1990s could contain asbestos.✌️
@@DependableFlame oh boy i have a flat ad that i used a couple of weeks and i havent changed the wick , haha ☠☢
