    I seriously love your channel. I’m a single mom of a 5 yr old looking to become a travel creator. Can’t wait to start. Carmen do you and hubby ever go on romantic getaways to really sit back and relax?

      Thank you so much! And yes usually we try to do a no kids trip every 1-2 years. But obviously this year the childcare situation has been particularly challenging with Covid!

    Thanks so much! I’ve been to the Fairmont Mayakoba a few times and always wondered about the Andaz property as their website apparently does not do it justice. Hope you visited some other properties in Mayakoba 😍

    Thanks for the great review! We were about to book until you mentioned the tip expectation..did I understand it correctly? The staff expect a tip of 20-30% on your meals even when you’ve paid for full board? Or is it only on meals and drinks that are not included in your package? Appreciate the help!

    It a new place to stay but with the kitchen package it down grades this place to 3 out of 5 . Thanks you for the review

    • @TopFlightFamily
      @TopFlightFamily  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like I said in the review, most people would be best off paying a la carte. So I don’t think the open kitchen plan takes anything away from the resort. You just need to be aware of how it works and decide if it’s worth it to you or not. Andaz is not an all-inclusive so if you’re only looking for that, it’s not the best choice. But if you’re looking for an upscale resort with modern design and incredible food, then it’s a great choice! All depends on the traveler and their priorities/preferences.

    I believe the outdoor area at JFK terminal 5 is where you take your dog to handle their business.

    • @TopFlightFamily
      @TopFlightFamily  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One small section of it is for dogs. The rest is definitely designed for humans 😀

    Your upload date is listed as August 21. How recent was your trip? I am traveling to another Mayakoba resort next month. How was the sargassum (seaweed)?

    Not sure if you have answered this….love your channel. Interested to know how you travel with kids. Do they not go to school? Are you only traveling on school breaks, how will that work with 21 trips this year. I’m close to NYC and school is back in-person this year. It was much easier last year being virtual and traveling.

    • @TopFlightFamily

      Hey there! We started homeschooling a year ago but up until then they went to regular public school and we’d try to travel as much as possible on holidays and breaks!

    Why are there armed guards with long guns patrolling the beach ? Is it that dangerous in Mexico ? I guess it’s not advisable to leave the safety of the resort !!

    • @jijib7691
      @jijib7691 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to work and live there in 2006-2007 (resort next door) and it's always been the case, armed police guards at the beach and city are quite normal in a lot of Caribbean countries and Mexico. I also used to live in Guadalajara in the 70's (I was super young then) and I remember them still being around. But the Mayan Riviera and Playa del Carmen are tourist areas and are quite safe compared to main cities 😎
