Man this song defined a damn good era in my life. I was 20 going on 21. Young and worry free. When you that age it feel like you have all the time in the world. The concept of time is almost nonexistent. You don’t think about tomorrow or next month. Just fully present in the moments. Riding thru the Chicago streets at night bumping this on the way to one of my slides crib just hit different. Good days.
This was me too. And I remember I met a 25yo guy at a party and he was like enjoy it now cause shit sucks after and dang was he right! But this song and album always bring me back to those easy times.
the psychedelic sound and the story he tells on this song doesn't get old, I've heard it at least a hundred times on GTA and still playing it on spotify to this day
This was my golden era. Watching these artists on the come up was inspirational. I miss the blog era. Seeing Mac Miller, Kendrick, Cole, Wale, Nipsey, KRIT, etc blossom was CRAZY!
Dumb boomer shit. All hip hop sounds exactly like this now; they all share similar chord progression and influences. If anything, this song was better than anything that came out in 2011, the dark age of hip hop.
@@swarthybullxxx dog how is 2011 the dark age of hip hop? So many classics. Asap rocky - Live.Love.ASAP Danny Brown - XXX Kendrick - Section 80 Big Krit - Return of 4eva Kanye and Jay - Watch the Throne J Cole - Sideline story Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV Drake - Take Care Death Grips - Exmilitary plus a lot of great underground shit like Cunninlynguists, Elzhi, Blu&Exile and the Roots. arguably one of the best years in hip hop ever.
Yeah I love it, it’s like when you’re a teenager your age doesn’t matter, you just do shit. Then, when you get into your 20s you have responsibilities and your life isn’t as free. It truly speaks to me as someone who is almost 18. I only have freedom ahead for 2 years.
@@DxrkOptics You still just do shit in your 20s... you just do it with your own money that you made from that 9 to 5 job. The responsibilities come when you mature not when you hit 20. I'm 28 and yes this lyric still speaks to me 10 years later :D.
@@ditch5662 it’s not exactly 20 I more meant like you’re growing up, your expected to be more mature and you have responsibilities that you didn’t have, say, in your teenage years
As an old head that for some strange reason never played GTA 5, and having my 12 year old put me on to this song I forgot about, and seeing him vibe to Kendrick’s whole discography now, it’s pure sweet nostalgia reminding me of a simpler time as a young boy and the joy and fear as a father knowing my son is about to go through this age any minute. “When your age don’t exist…” is that time in life when you feel like you can do and be anything. No idea what the weight of the world has in store for you. What a time to be alive!!

MrDawggy313 plus that production on this is crazy good. From the voice doubled up on some parts, the effects and when, I especially when he finishes a verse and makes a point about ADHD that little banging sound that stops the beat for a second makes it even more impactful.

Yeah I love it, it’s like when you’re a teenager your age doesn’t matter, you just do shit. Then, when you get into your 20s you have responsibilities and your life isn’t as free. It truly speaks to me as someone who is almost 18. I only have freedom ahead for 2 years.

What a time to be alive!!
this is one of those songs that define a part of your life. you can flashback to a certain moment or chapter in your life and the nostalgia hits so different. can't really believe we are having a new Kendrick album tonight.
