No lie, every few months I just go and watch that Wobbles combo again. That's still some of the sickest melee of all time.

this more than anything really helped personalize the top players for me. I recognized all the combos and that really helped me put names and faces together and make me feel like I knew them all a little better, best combo video in a long time.

That combo from Armada at the end should go down in history as the greatest Peach combo in SSBM history. Like holy fucking shit, it's just absolutely nuts. It has everything. Umbrella, nairs, bairs, uairs, a turnip snipe, and it doesn't have a down smash, making it all the more legit.

Like him or not , it's incredible how Hungrybox is (and has always been) a top player with Jigglypuff . You would think by now the metagame would be full of Jiggly mains , yet he still is the only one and he conquers the top. A big shoutout to him.

it'd be good if you limited it to only combos from 2016, but i understand that's a lot of footage to comb through that may or may not exist. With that said, I think this video was a great idea, hoping to see one each year
That Drommelan Umbrella combo is definitely top tier.
Personally, I think Mang0's 0-death combo on plup for the set at Smash Summit 3 would have been a better choice for a clip, but great video!

Armada was always my favorite smasher ever since i saw that fated match between him and the then undefeated Mango back in Genesis 1 and 2. I was literally junping for joy when i saw him at number 1. GO ARMADA!!!!

Anyone notice the tone shift in the music starting from ESAM's clip? it immediately got followed by crazy clips by Syrox and Zain and I thought it fit really well.
Ah yes.. The year 2016. It was the year I got into Melee. First regional I got to attend was Smash the Record 2016. Every stage was legal, ZFG, a OoT speedrunner who I didn't know at the time was there (i watch him all the time now) I made a couple new friends, gave Mike Haze a beer, saw top 100 players, and even got to stay at one of their houses. Drunk Sloth actually hosted me the night before the event and once we were at the hotels, it was literally 3 days of partying. The hotels are infested with smashers and friendlies are in every room. It's like the SS Anne from fire red, every room wanted to battle. I don't remember correctly but I am pretty sure we had a 24 hour venue. It was nuts. I walked away from that tournament a much better player and a more sociable human being :) Melee community is the best
