All About Sea Kelp For Lawns And Gardens. What Does Sea Kelp Do For Plants?

- What's up everybody! This video is All About Sea Kelp For Lawns And Gardens. I'm going into depth about a very cool aquatic plant that has so many benefits, it needs its own video! There are plant hormones, cytokinins, auxins, gibberellins, amino acids, trace elements, carbon.... so much going on!
I mention one Greene County Product in particular in this video that is currently not available to DIY Lawn folk, only available to pro's, Sea-K. This is a killer kelp concentrate product with added potassium sulfate.
Kelp is one of natures most epic stress reducers for plants, using it properly is key and putting out at the right rate, even more so. Dig in and enjoy.

This pumping my brain full of info at 5am thing is getting addictive.... what's wrong with me? Great video as always John.
thanks boss
@@Lawncology I got the hat today.. Thanks sir. 👊
Pacific Northwest Lawns don’t be afraid to show it off 😁😁
@@Lawncology i certainly will..
Sorry I missed the premier yesterday - was out mowing a very big lawn. But for sure, RGS is my favorite of all the GCF sea kelp products, but if you want to let us offer the SEA-K I'm happy to do it - hint hint. 😎
I hear ya 😁😉
This comment aged well.
Would love to see a BOLD line on products: Water In: Yes or No
And then instructions
Let it dry it first and then water in,
Apply on wet ground or dry ground
Let it dry and no water for a couple days.
Awesome thanks for the update.
Well presented John, love simplicity of it all
Great video John. Truly appreciate the explanation.
Thanks 👍
Awesome info man I’m glad you covered this topic next since, you know I asked about it in the fulvic video 😁. 👍
Enjoy the education. Thank you!
Thank you too!
I’m from just south of Portland Maine and yes. This stuff is everywhere
I'm in love with your videos this season JP. Last week I bought a 5 gallon bucket of RGS to use on some client lawns and this video just validated what I have been seeing in my own lawn.
Zac Williams thanks Zac! Keep up the great work man!!!
Thanks for the videos. Great content and super interesting to learn about
Thanks for watching!
Great vids John! Appreciate the knowledge. My lawn has never looked so good!
Glad to help
Thanks John! Awesome content as always. Helps me justify the 8 gallon variety purchase of your products to the wife!
Glad to help ;)
Awesome....i love this geek knowledge. A compliment of course. My biostimulant is arriving soon. Keep doing what you do.
Awesome! Thank you!
I ♡ lifelong learning.
3 times before noon is a good day. Sea-K sounds cool. Oh, I can't go heavy? Darn.... LOL
Woah there friend. Easy on the Jersey Shore reference. Lol. Your mountain temp swings are just as crazy as our coastal jersey weather though.
LOL. It's one of my favorite things to say :)
I got so involved in the video, I totally forgot about the yeti!
that's awesome!
Great explanation.
Thank you!!
Lawncology I knew the kelp was good because I use it. I didn’t know it also had trace elements. Like I said, great explanation. I’d like to see something like this on all the DIY products. Thanks.
@@YoMamaBoyfriend007 aside from air8 and Humic12 and GreeneFfect, i have it in all the other products..... considering maybe doing a limited quart run of Sea-k for DIY... maybe 250 quarts to see how the die-hards like it.
Lawncology U do it I’m buying. Put it in the Build a Box
SuperBighead100 it would probably be a stand-alone just to see what moved. Then we could figure out other packaging options later
Ok for the Sea-K , applied with a backpack sprayer do I need to water it in?
Hello JP. So how long would you recommend Sea-K sitting on the grass blades before watering it in? Imagine we have perfect weather under 85 degrees. Thanks.
I’m really enjoying your videos and look forward to trying your products soon. I learned about you from LCN.
I’m a physician so your approach is very interesting to me and I appreciate the science. My question though is if you can go through some of the studies showing the benefit of the various products you discuss. In medicine we talk about “patient important outcomes.” For example it might be demonstrated in a statistically significant way that taking this antibiotic may decrease symptoms of ear pain by 8 hours when taken for 1 week. While statistically significant, for many people that wouldn’t be important.
I did appreciate that you touched on some of this in your most recent video about the liquid aeration. That said, for example does the percent reduction in compaction, while significant statistically, translate to any meaningful improvement in the turf quality, disease resistance, resilience, thickness, color, etc.
I frankly have no idea how these types of studies are conducted in your industry but I’m very interested in your content and I’d like to thank you for all of the work you put into these videos. I’m new to the lawn hobby but I’m looking forward to utilizing your products. Cheers.
Kind of off the subject but does anyone know title / artist of song in video? First line is down by the sea. I often hear songs I like, however they never seem to be in the credits. Thanks
Man! I don't even know if Im doing this right. But I think I spotted the tini Yeti. Is it on the play fort, up in the gable window?
lol, no
In summation, kelp is awesome. 🤙🏼
Has the yeti been found?
Funny And Cool
I could sure use a Yetti 😊
Is SeaK needed separately if I’m already using the biostimulant pack?
Needed? No. It’s just a kicker
8:20-8:25-- First I’ve heard about heat being bad for kelp product use especially if “lots of water” possibly not used afterwards. Seems like that doesn’t bode well for SW Florida spring/summers with water restrictions ... Also first I’ve heard of “a balanced approach to applying rather than “throw ‘er down “ ! So I guess I’ve been applying completely wrong (temp & amount) all this time. I guess that’s why I’m not really seeing that much improvement in my turf. Guess I’ll try to change methods and practices...
Follow along and we will
Get your lawn whipped into shape
Lawncology - Hope it helps with TARR then.... looking forward to your vids
Who sings the song at about a minute? Really like that ditty. Gotta run now. Time to get back to spraying my Humic-12 & 26-0-0 w/sea kelp in my Lawncology hat on my happy customer's lawns.

With using kelp, is there a concern of the iodine concentration harming the soil biome?
Not at the concentrations applied
Hey John, Totally off subject. Can i use flora greene for indoor houseplants? If so, whats the rate? Thanks dawg.
Yes, absolutely. 1 ounce per gallon of water whenever you want to do it
@@Lawncology k, thanks.
Hey John I seen the tiny yeti cup in your closing
so close! MainManFromMaineMan took it this week!
So close, next week
When will this be available to the DIY crowd?
I think you mean Sea-k? No plans on that yet, but kelp is in every combo product we do
Question, I just planted new tree's should i do just the Sea-k, or RGS ? I want to get the tree's the best jumpstart after planting as i can.
Run the seak now and rgs In about 3 weeks
@@Lawncology Perfect Thank you!
@@Lawncology Any recommendations on application rate of each?
@@mattadams5380 1/2 ounce per inch with the rgs, 1/8per inch with seak
@@Lawncology "X" ounces per inch of trunk size per gallon of water?
Great video! Please be aware of that a lot of the Sea kelp that are harvested, do greatly damage to the seabed and the creature that are living there. We have several "harvest boats" on west coast of Norway that are "destroying" the best crab and lobster places! I just wanted to mention this... I used your products last year with great success, but I hate to import your products to Norway due to EXTREMELY high shipping cost. When will you have a retailer i Norway? :)
Hey Kenny! Couple things: the harvest actually cuts the plant with more than 16” left attached to the rock to preserve the plane and let it recover fast. It’s part of the sustainability mission of the company. Second.... I don’t know when I’ll have some one in Norway!!! I need to wait on that
I’ve notice a few👎🏽 down from the H12 & the fulvic videos that some know it alls decided to do, for those of you that think you know it all cool!don’t watch. But for those people like my self that appreciate what this man is trying share with us that is really cool!!!, because he could be like every other person that came up with a million $ product and sit back and let the money pile up! Instead he out there getting his hands dirty and walking us through this hole process . John don’t mean to ramble but people only really noticing Bird shit on their car & think is a sign to clean it and never mind all the free knowledge that your dropping , keep it coming # MASTER CLASS 😇👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks man. I don't sweat the dislikes, its all part of it. Thank you so much for your kind words and for your support!
I’m still in bed 6 am mst! I won’t win a hat ever !
I will continue with reconstituting dry soluble seaweed extract because it is expensive to ship liquids here.
40 kilos treats over 2 million sq. feet for 600$ CDN..
So your rate with that is on KG/Ha?
@@Lawncology I hybrid that to ounces per 100 square meters. 😁
Where do you buy that from ?

Gotta be there for the premiere!!!
Lawncology I was working so I guess I’ll have to catch the weekend Premieres.
Dude that was a 2 min intro. Wth this ain’t a tv show?
Welcome to my channel. It is like a tv show
Agree. This guy is sooo self indulgent. Get to the point already! TV shows don't even have intros this long ffs.
TheScalyman you’re right! TV shows don’t. It’s fantastic that there’s a platform like this where a person can create content in their own style, share it and grow and audience, entertain and educate all while taking critics feedback. TH-cam: Broadcast Yourself!
@@Lawncology Well considering the low view count it may be time to change to a more appealing format.

Hello George, ☕️☕️😁
Trevor Muggeridge well hello there sir! 😎👊☕️☕️
@@Lawncology ximertracks appears to be spam as well. just searched his name and there's videos about him being tied to viruses. deleting his comments off my latest video.
Why do you keep calling kelp a plant?
Because people can relate to that vernacular and visual rather than a protista or algae
@@Lawncology Will other types of algae work?
@@winstonian88 there are numerous kelp options and some other brown algae that I’ve seen in the past.
I am 4 years late, but the comment was in bad taste. This video was put together so you can right off your vacation-pathetic.
You speak way too fast. You’re talking about things that your viewers are not familiar with. It would be much easier if you were speaking slower.
