    That cleaning was magical. Welcome back.
    Edit: I since watched the rest. The accompaniment of that frame completes the painting.

    A brilliant piece of work! You make it seem so effortless, which we know it isn't. It is only because we see a master at work. The owners of this painting are indeed fortunate to have found you.

    That was beautiful all the way around, Eduardo. I just wish it had been in real time, not sped up, so we could spend more time with you 😉. That painting was gorgeous, and once cleaned, wow! And that frame. You gild so well. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece of art.

      Dear Vickie, thank you so much for your beautiful and special words.
      I know, I also like long videos, and I promise that in the future I will do it, at least, always a longer version.
      I understand, you are not the only one that does prefer longer videos, but for now, I need to make also short versions of the videos, so the video can reach new people that do not know the channel yet, most of them don´t know this channel exists. and it is easier to reach them if I publish at their beginning, a more digestible shorter video. If they like, they will stay, and also will enjoy longer videos. I am trying to reach more viewers, for them to know this channel exists.
      In the next days or weeks, i will try to publish different versions in length and edit the same video, hoping that in that way YT help me to reach more people.
      I thank you for your understanding, yours and all of you that make part of the journey of this channel, who always comment on my videos giving me courage, making me feel, that I am not alone doing them, but you are there and you watching them, thank you so much to all of you.

      @@Figueiredoartconservation Oh absolutely, Eduardo. You need to produce videos that catch the eye and keep attention. I know I'm an outlier in wanting movies, because if I wasn't, TikTok wouldn't be so popular. So keep producing what you need to, I'll be here and waiting for the next installment from you. 🤗

    Boa noite Eduardo.
    Mais um espetáculo de restauração, a moldura eu sabia que se usavam moldes de silicone, mas nunca tinha visto a forma de usar.
    Meus parabéns direto do Rio de Janeiro.

    I am astonished. That beautiful picture was hidden under the grime and discolored varnish? Wow! That's... amazing. Simply amazing. Do you get a thrill out of being the first person to see the painting in full color after such a long time? Of have you done this for so many paintings that it has become a normal experience for you?
    Your process for restoring frames always fascinates me, from the casting of the decoration elements to the final layering of paint or leaf. Do you keep a library of your moulds, in case you get another frame that has the same elements?

    • @Figueiredoartconservation
      @Figueiredoartconservation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adorable Jespersen, thank you for enjoying the video,
      Yes, that was grime, dirt, smoke, a lot of years receiving dirt on it, so become completely hidden. And yes I always get fascinated, because even me, that do the job, I can have an idea how it is under, but never as close as the final result, it is really very rewarding when after the cleaning, under all the dirt, I Do find a beautifully detailed painting like this one.
      I love to repair frames too, some times takes a lot of steps to do it, and it is hard work, but when the final result is achieved, is just beautiful. Yes, I do keep the molds, it is a bit improbable to have in the future, an exactly equal ornament, but can happen, so I do keep them yes.
      Thanks a lot for your feedback.

    How did such a nice little landscape gets so filthy? You must have quite an eye to see beyond the dirt and grime. About the background music...for a little while I thought I was watching Downton Abbey ;)

    • @Figueiredoartconservation
      @Figueiredoartconservation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Mooonie, believe me, after 200 years it is very easy to get all this dirt or damage as this one got. fireplace smoke, candles smoke, dirt and grease from cooking. it is easy to get like this.
      Ho you got that feeling about Downton Abbey, 😀 this year they are going to have a movie at the cinema, must be quite interesting. 😀

  • @mooonie6634
    @mooonie6634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was going to ask a question earlier but it slipped my mind....that frame had a number of decorative elements to it that are seen in many frames from a number of different periods....the running bell flower on the very top, the round dots and the medallions....when you have to make a long running mold do you ever think about saving the silicone molds and reusing them? or does the silicone degrade?

    • @Figueiredoartconservation
      @Figueiredoartconservation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mooonie, I always keep my molds, if this silicone degrades, it takes a long time, I never saw one degraded, so definitely it is wise to keep them, although I must be honest, I didn't found yet a similar frame, equal to any I have already worked on, but of course, it can happen in the future.
