It seems me LG G5 camera app doesn't have QR-scan capability; however, your good/clear presentation enabled me to clearly see this (so, although my cam doesn't scan, I thank you for allowing me to figure this out easily.)

Does NOT work on ANY android phone as your title says.....Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 it does not have QR code option in camera settings.
neither does the s9 and s9+

How do you scan qr code while on the phone? What if someone doesn't have 2 phones? For example, when a website is giving u a qr code and u need to scan the code thats on your phone screen? TIA!

You don't need the QR Code App, that's what he's showing us! Last thing I need is yet another app on my phone - that's when your phone starts acting stupid. This is so simple and at my age - over 50 - well over 50 if I can figure it out YOU can figure it out. YES it's that simple!
If you do indeed need a QR Scanner Code App, you can find many in your Google Play Store.
I was able to scan with my new Moto G, however, I was playing with different settings to get the best pictures for April 8th,2024, Total Solar Eclipse and ever since playing with the settings it's no longer scanning. BTW, yes, I protected my Moto G camera with a special film to cover and protect it, therefore, that isn't the issue since I know at least one person thinks that I didn't do this and ruined the camera.

Misleading info. I have a Samsung phone, running latest android, and camera mode and settings, and there is no setting for Scan QR codes, because the app does not support it. Point being, no, this does not work on "ANY" android.
My phone camera also doesn't a setting for QR codes. It's very easy to google QR apps and download one that is free. Once it's downloaded, an icon will appear on your phone menu page. Very easy. (I rarely use it anyway.)

I have an LG Tracfone that's several years old, and it was on mine. After I went to my camera settings, it was the second option under "Useful Features."

Opened camera, put camera on QR code and the code came up, clicked photo and the address/link came up. No other app used to scan the code.
Hmm. I can't make it work. I'm either an idiot or my phone doesn't have an option for scanning QR things. (codes?) Technology seems to not like me a bit. Also.. just in case I search for other helpful things on youtube and you pop up.. could you maybe slow down your speaking? Your voice is clear, nice tone etc. it's just difficult to understand some words.. not because of an accent or anything.. your just talk fast.. or I hear slow. thank you for taking time to help people. You'll have to download an app. This is a bad tutorial.
If you don't have it already download Google Lens, then press the option 'Search', and the you just point your camera at the QR code.

This works for the Samsung A02S. Your model phone might use something similar with the QR code setting in the WIFI menu:
Samsung A02S QR code setting: If you're connected to the web using WIFI, go to 'Settings' on the main menu and choose 'WIFI'. In the top right corner of the WIFI screen, right beside the three dots, is what looks like a letter X with dot in the middle. If you look closer, that little icon is the QR code icon. Turn it on... Then, view a QR code in the camera and it will automatically scan it.
Oh my good Lord, it's a short video. Did you know you can stop a video and rewind & start again (HINT: Just tap on the screen). I'm over 50 years old by a big chunk of time and if I can follow these instructions, get this to work and not screw up my phone all you 'under my age-ers' should be able to grasp his instructions - it really is easy - I'm not kidding!

Could NOT find the scanner on my android phone, but I needed to scan the cashapp for my taxes, and the cash app had a scanner in the app itself which I used.

I'm not technically inclined but try the icon which may be at the left of your camera, that is where it is on mine. It will open a Google search option which you need to take a picture of and many things show up which are similar to what you are seeing on your phone. As I said, I'm not sure if this will help you but give it a try - I know that this is a feature which all android models have. Good luck.

Not necessarily. I think its fair to assume your model is within the decade when watching new videos. I can't believe how many people on here have phones 10-15 years old upset he didn't explain this feature was created & updated on current recent years. 😂😂
I have the QR Code scanner app installed on my phone. My camera has the Scan QR Code enables. When I point my phone with camera open on a QR Code what I get is my phone taking an image of the QR Code and then it saves it to my Gallery on my phone. I don't get a URL or other type of link to view the info in the QR Code. The strange part is that my wife gets upset that it doesn't work for me then she grabs my phone...points it at the QR Code...and the link from the QR Code is displayed and she can view the information. Why does it NOT work for me but it works for my wife? Even you in your video had to attempt to scan the QR Code 3 or 4 times to get it to work so...

Hey Joe, neither could I find the feature on my smartphone, I have the Moto G Stylus 2021 smartphone. I had to download "Google Lens" so that I can scan OR Codes and other stuff. I hope what I have written here helps you.

I have a Motorola G7 play. It doesn't seem to have the ability to scan and the apps available all want my credit card info. Are there any apps that just scan? I'm not giving my CC info to strangers.
