This broadcast was actually in colour, but in the days when they used Kinoscope the Original broadcast would be in colour, but the replay because of the transfer was usually in black and white.
It’s nice that you posted the CBC pre-pre game show with Don Wittman before the CTV telecast of the game. Nice to see the highlights of Roughriders and Tiger Cats conference playoff games.
I'd blame Don Wittman for being boring during the pre-game stuff, but if the background music serves as a clue, he was just following directions. Nothing like smooth lounge jazz to run those highlights, amirite? It was like those locally produced travel shows that used to be everywhere, with the local agency owner (often a married couple) would show 8 mm film they shot on their latest excursion while telling us about it in monotone as cheesy music plays in the background. Plus, I know Don's work, and he was a lot more entertaining than that.
I didn't start working at CBC until 1984, and knew Don fairly well, as he covered many sports over the years...Football, Hockey and several Olympic Games.

Thanks for preserving Canadian History. The CFL matters!
Thanks, I never knew Don Whitman started broadcasting when it was still Black and White!
He went way back to the mid-1950s in Saskatoon, and began working with CBC in Winnipeg in 1961.

Don Wittman's sidekick at the beginning is Art Darch, CBC's often-mentioned but never-seen spotter in the 1970s.
When Johnny Esaw refers to the 43rd Grey Cup championship, that was the number of East-West matchups to date.
Audio and video aren't synchronized in the 1st quarter. The audio is considerably behind the play.
Yeah I got this off the cfl Grey cup portal and then edited out the marks ads, I’ll take a look
@@CalgaryStampedersClassics It's better now, thanks.
