3 ATM, YUCK! So many field watches have low water resistance ratings. Even the Hamilton is twice the price and 0:35 not rugged enough. Price, build quality, WR… I suggest a Bertucci. T)
Non-maintainable - maybe that just means that the quartz movement isn't serviceable? But the movement seems really good for a quartz. Or maybe it is just the mil-spec it falls under? Obviously you can pop a new battery and wear for a couple more years you don't have grab the watch and do a Dr. J hookshot into the trash can.
You're probably right, but it's an odd choice that Marathon decided to tout it's MILSPEC qualities when the spec states short-life and non-maintainable.
Hello, and thanks for the review. Just sent a Officer's GPM for warranty claim of the watch reaching not even 24 hours of running time since fully wound (just 3 months of very light usage). I really wanted to like this watch, but this type of problem wears me down. I'll provide a follow up the customer service on this and see if there's any truth on the "better in the long run" slogan.
All good points, the spring bar position is very odd, when using a pass through strap it would be much better to mount the bars lower and have some turn down to the lugs, as it is the strap has to bend back almost 180 degrees to reach the wrist. 30m WR is a deal breaker.
There's a couple member videos dropped that are worth watching. You won't be that entertained for $0.99 anywhere else. They have a more abrasive tone compared to this video (like the older ones).
I won't knock the size given its design origin and intended purpose, but it's pretty cheesy that they're charging $30 to add a date window to the GPQ or damn near Hamilton prices for the mechanical with an NH35. All included with poor water resistance. The only interesting part is some have tritium. The mediocre lume would be fine in a field watch if they had improved the water resistance and done something like fixed spring bars. As it stands, no one should buy this.
Thanks. I've joined and now I'm a member. I enjoyed this review, and the only reason this watch deserves to be on Watchlab is the Introduction :D
Welcome aboard!
love the vids guy.
Way overpriced junk, 30m WR is a disgrace.
You nailed it Doc
Good to see the proof of life for dr bill. We were concerned

3atm is pathetic. I can't believe Marathon would release this.
Thanks for the review. its a plastic disposable watch. I put this in the same bucket as those swatch/omega/Blancpain collabs. Plastic toys.
Haha, I’m considering picking up a swatch Blancpain the next time I’m in Montreal.
$216 bucks is too much for this watch in my opinion... Consumers are paying for the Marithon name it seems...
Excuse me, with Maralago?

I say! It's a quartz for God's sake!! 😮
That looks like a toy watch. PS: Is it worth joining the channel?
Actually, it looks like Lorus, haha
