Hey guys I have made an updated video here: How much does it cost to live in Australia? | Cost of Living in Canberra th-cam.com/video/gcWxfJZHTQA/w-d-xo.html
Hi Aashika, it can be really difficult to find a job sometimes, can’t it? I encourage you to keep applying. I don’t work a casual job, I am a consultant, but this time of year there should start to be more holiday/casual jobs available over the holiday period. I recommend updating your resume and cover letter to really highlight your experiences and don’t give up! All the best in your job search 💖
Hi Brin.. great video..How does the cost of living look like in 2022? Been checking online. Rent looks minimum $230 (utilities included) 160 to 190 without utilities. I'll be an international student and ANU is an option. However this means 20hours/week or 40/fortnight.. at a min wage of $20 Looking at minimum $1600 per month. Just about enough when earning a min.wage.. this is rent alone.. food, well.. to the soup kitchen it is!
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I am currently making a video where I track our expenses for march to give people a better idea of the actual cost of living in Canberra. Please note, the working balance limits on student visas have recently been reduced so check the immi website to factor this into your calculations! I will reply again to your comment with a link to my video when I post it. Brin :)
Her is the COL Video for this year :) How much does it cost to live in Australia? | Cost of Living in Canberra th-cam.com/video/gcWxfJZHTQA/w-d-xo.html
Hi Brin, how easy would you say it is for international students to make friends and find a community around them? I've heard from several Australians that it is really hard for foreigners to make friends because most Aussies already have their own friend groups and aren't really open to making new friends.
Hi Erica, thank you for your comment! One day I hope to convince my partner to film a video about this with me, but until then I will try to answer it as best I can myself. I think that it can be hard to integrate into the Australian community if you aren't at university or you don't have any Australian contacts. I think that if you are at university, you automatically (to an extent) have a group of like minded people. At uni there are tonnes of clubs etc. that make it easier to find people with similar interests. I would say in comparison to some other countries, Australians can be more insular, especially in small cities like Canberra. Don't be disheartened though, there are many clubs, volunteer groups or sports teams with you can join to find new friends! Hope this helps :)

Gracias por tu comentario. Es un poco difícil para mí filmar en Canberra, pero agradezco sus comentarios. Otros canales pueden mostrarle la vida en Canberra de manera más realista. Atentamente, Brin
