    PM_PCH_PWROK is not required for PM_SLP_S4_L to come up. But PM_SLP_S4_L is required for PM_PCH_PWROK. The fact that that missing PM_SLP_S4_L was apparently caused by missing PM_PCH_PWROK is most likely because the board was in fact power cycling from PM_SLP_S4_L up to ALL_SYS_PWRGD.
    The B&K Precision 390A is a bit slow as a multimeter. Chances are it may miss the spike.
    Especially on 3437/00165, liquid damage causing issue on pin 8 of U1950 is very common and will cause power cycling.

    I like how Apple boards are so advanced that they self diagnose with obvious corrosion where the problem is.
    I have a power supply that I've been trying to fix but it's not advanced enough to identify its fault for me with conveniently placed corrosion.

    Hello Louis,
    I've recently started learning fixing laptops and I'm happy to say I've already fixed around 10 devices, with help from two great, experiences guys. I really love doing this and I just found your google document; excited! I had one quick question though. Can you - for once and for all - answer this question for me?
    Is it best to always - whenever possible - charge your laptop, even when you're not using it?
    Is it not good to do this with your phone and preferably use it between 40 and 80% (drainage)?
    Is it best to always turn off your iMac or never really turn it off?
    Especially the fact that it seems to differ per device, caught my attention. A quick, short answer would already be really appreciated, but It'd be even cooler to actually understand WHY this is the case.
    Thank you so much in advance and thank you for your videos.

      What MBP model/year?, since when the problem started?, did something happened/changed with the MBP since the problem started?, for me it sounds like thermal throttling, a lot of apple products have poor and almost non existent ventilation and when things get too hot the cpu/gpu start slowing down to protect itself, if thermal throttling is too aggressive it may be the fan or the cpu thermal paste, if not sent it to master Rossmann because something in the internals is F* up.

    • @jerremyvinson6310
      @jerremyvinson6310 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it’s a little older the cause can be as simple as the fans being dirty or it could be the thermal paste is past its prime. I am no expert but some canned air and new thermal paste does wonders. This is of course if nothing hardware or software related is wrong with it. I would start with simple stuff first and if that doesn’t work time for a professional.
